I swing open the door to my small apartment with my one free hand, the other hand occupied with two grocery bags, and then close the door behind me with my foot. I proceed to carry the two bags of groceries to my small kitchen after hearing the satisfying click of the door locking automatically behind me.
I have just returned from my local grocery store, which was super packed and had a long ass queue, so therefore I took a lot longer at the grocery store than I wanted to.
Did I mention that the grocery store is one of the only grocery stores in this small town of Icheon that I reside in?
Well it is one of the only grocery stores in Icheon and now that I'm finally home, I am late, tired and in a grouchy mood.
I went straight from my job at the library to the grocery store because my friend, Jongin, texted me during my shift that he got promoted at his job so tonight me and him are going to celebrate his promotion. We are first going to have some warm-up drinks at my place before hitting the clubs.
You shouldn't be sober when you hit the clubs, right? You should be tipsy.
Upon arriving at my small kitchen, I place the two grocery bags onto the wooden countertop. I take out the vodka and beer from the one grocery bag and place them on the countertop in preparation for tonight. With the other grocery bag, containing bread, milk and other necessities, I pack them away in their respective places.
With the groceries dealt with, I exit the kitchen to go get ready for the night since it is nearing the time for Jongin to arrive.
I take a quick shower with scalding hot water and then dress in a simple attire consisting of a pair of black jeans, a black fitted T-shirt and my black One Star converse. It will be dark anyway so no one will pay attention to my simple 'not-appropriate-to-celebrate-your-friend's-promotion' attire. I gather my long, black hair at the top of my head in a small ponytail, exposing my shaved sides.

After I'm done with my hair, I begin inserting all my ear piercings in my ear (three piercings on each ear, making it six in total). Right after I have inserted the last ear piercing in my ear, I hear a series of loud knocks coming from my front door that can only be from Jongin.
As I walk to the front door, the loud knocks have not stopped once and it was getting annoying. Jongin is known to be a little bit of a jokester but he took the wrong time to be a jokester because I'm still a little bit grouchy from the grocery store. For Jongin to be annoying now of all times, takes everything in me to not go beserk.
Yet even after all this inner turmoil, I plaster a bright smile on my face as I unlock the door to reveal Jongin standing on the other side of the doorframe, decked out in black skinny jeans, a black button up and black heeled boots with his hair in an updo.
"Are you ready for tonight, hyung?!" he asks as soon as the door opens, a matching bright smile on his face.
"Of course! Congratulations on your promotion, 弟弟!"
