Once upon a time there was a little girl around the age of twelve years old. She was very shy and afraid of the world. Now let's meet a little more about. Her name is Kayla Jane. Her parents are never around. She is an only child. Her mother is an alcoholic and her father seems to care more about drugs then does anything else. No one knows what Kayla goes through and no one seems to ask. Both of her parents are very abusive, and Kayla is starting to feel like she would be better off dead. But keeps fighting because she believes she has a purpose but isn't sure what that is yet.

As the year went on Kayla has ended up in the hospital five times for broken bones. The teachers at her school never ask what happened. Kayla felt like she was all alone and that no one cared about

what was happening. She was so afraid to go home at night because she thought this is the night they take my life. She ended up writing a letter just in case she did end up being murdered. It read

"My name is Kayla Jane. I am twelve years old. I go to school. I am afraid my parents will kill me, so if I wind up dead it's because they finally did. I live in fear and I'm sick if it. I feel like no one loves me or even cares. Can someone help me? I don't want to die. I want to live but I want to be happy. Who do I go to? "

Her parents never found it but she did end up taking it to school to show the one person who might care her classmate Kyle's mother Ann. Ann always seen Kayla sad and in pain. She wanted to help Kayla so bad but was so unsure of how to. When Kayla handed Ann the letter she started to cry. At the moment she knew what she had to do. Ann took the letter to the police station to finally get the help that Kayla needed. The officer that was trying to help Ann her name was Candace Tyler. Officer Tyler started to cry reading the letter as well. At that moment officer Tyler took off to Kayla's home. Kayla was all alone trying to get food for herself because she hadn't eaten in 2 days other than at school. Officer Tyler broke the door down to make sure that Kayla's was safe. Kayla's mom was drunk on the couch as her father walked in high off of everything you can think of. At that moment officer Tyler called for back up to arrest the parents. Candace couldn't have children so this really upset her. At that moment she told the child services lady that she wanted to take her in and possibly adopt her. That night was the very first time that Kayla felt safe.

A year later Kayla was finally adopted by Candace and they were happy or so they thought..

Since Candace was an officer she had a lot of enemies. Which scared Kayla but she made sure not to let Candace know because she thought if Candace knew that she was afraid it would make her not want Kayla any more. Candace loved Kayla with all of her heart and was on a list to adopt another child as soon as possible but wanted to keep it a secret because she knew that Kayla really wanted a sibling. But one night as Candace was trying to put Kayla to sleep they both heard some knocking on Kayla's bedroom window. Both of them were very confused because they lived in an apartment on the fourth floor. So someone would have walked up the stairs on the side of the building, but why?? Candace tells Kayla to go to her room so she could figure out why anyone would be out of the thirteent year olds window. As soon as she moved the curtains she heard Kayla scream. As she ran to go find out why the window broke and someone was trying to grab her arm. Kayla kept screaming for Candace. Which made Candace fight even harder. The neighbor ended up calling the police. Candace finally got free and tried running to Kayla but she was gone. She was no where in site. Candace started calling out for Kayla crying and in tears when her fellow co-workers arrived to save her. When she told them Kayla was gone they all ran out of the apartment to surround the building. They couldn't find her. They had to put an Amber alert out , but without any information on who took her it made it kind of difficult to find her. It's been over a year and no luck finding Kayla. Candace freaking out and not giving up on her daughter that she called the FBI begging and pleading for them to help her out. After three more months of Kayla still missing the FBI finally stepped in to help.
