Ping!
James' phone echoed in his room. He groaned as he rubbed his eyes, adjusting them to the light. He turned on his phone. 7:15. James sighed as he looked at the notification, seeing it was from his boyfriend, Tim. He immediately perked up. He tapped on the notification, hoping it would be a good morning message, or something good, anything. But this...James did not expect.
"I don't think this is working out, James. I'm sorry. We need to break up. I couldn't dare do it in person, I'm too much of a chicken. I'm sorry."
The dirty blonde haired boy felt his heart shatter. He felt his body go numb. He felt as if someone had stabbed him in the throat. Tears dwelled in his eyes as he shakily replied.
"I see. That's alright! We can still be friends! If you want, that is. I'm gonna catch some more z's. Talk to you soon!"
James sent the message before throwing his phone across the room. He felt cold. He wanted someone to hold him. To love him. To tell him everything would be alright. To care for him. To wipe his tears. To nuzzle, kiss, and comfort him. He wrapped himself back into his blanket, hugging his pillow. He sobbed loudly, hoping someone, ANYONE, would come. He sobbed. And sobbed. And sobbed. No one came. Eventually, he fell asleep.
...Hours later...
Adam had awoken from his slumber. He looked to his right to find no one next to him. He frowned, looking around for his girlfriend. He called out her name throughout the house.
"Jaiden! Jaide-"
He stopped as he saw a note on the kitchen counter. He furrowed his eyebrows before picking the note up gently, reading it.
"Hey, Adam! Sorry for not being here. I made you breakfast! Rebecca had an emergency and she asked me to come over! I'll be back around 5:00. Don't miss me too much!
~Jaiden 💕"
Adam chuckled as he looked at the plate. Eggs, bacon, and some toast. What could possibly happen at 9:00 am? He shrugged it off as he took a bite of breakfast. He went to the living room, scrolling through Twitter and stuff. He got bored and decided to text James.
"JAMESONNNNNNNN-"
Adam smiled at himself, hoping to annoying James. He finished his breakfast in a matter of 30 minutes, and still no reply from James. Adam huffed and decided to text him again. Yet again, James didn't reply. He hadn't even looked at the messages. Adam sighed before thinking. "Why didn't Rebecca tell me anything about the emergency...?" He grumbled before getting up and putting his plate in the sink. He texted Becca.
"Yo, Becca. Jaiden over there?"
He waited impatiently for a reply. Finally, his phone buzzed.
"No? Why? I thought she was at your house?"
Adam furrowed his eyebrows in both frustration and confusion.
"No? She told me you had an emergency and she would be home at 5:00."
"Well, she isn't here. Maybe text Tim? Or James?"
"James won't answer me, I already tried texting him. Can you try while I text Tim?"
"Sure thing!"
Adam inhaled sharply before opening Tim's contact.
"Timmy boi, have you seen Jaiden?"
It took a few minutes, but Tim responded.
"Nkpe."
"Nope*"
Weird...Tim usually doesn't send his texts rushed. And he usually would reply right away. Adam grumbled. Something was up. Just then, his phone buzzed. A text from James.
"Hey demon boio."
"Sup."
"Nofthjn mmuc."
"What is up with everyone's spelling today?"
"Hehe, I'm just not feeling well. Something happened this morning."
"Aw, want me to come over?"
"You don't have to."
"I'm coming anyway, and you're going to tell me whether you want to or not. Got it? AND we are going to the cafe."
"Fine. Idiot."
"Yeah, yeah. Be there in an hour."

James was still laying in bed sobbing when he heard a knock at the door. He wiped his face and sighed. "It's open Adam!" He buried his face into his blanket as he heard footsteps up the stairs. Adam flung the door open.
"Sorry, I'm late- I figured you wouldn't wanna go out so I just brought coff- James!? Why are you crying!?"
That only caused the taller man to bury himself into his covers more. Adam groaned before sitting on the bed next to him.
"What's up?" Adam patted James on the shoulder, frowning. "T-Tim." Adam held his breath and stared at James for a while, his eyes landed on the phone that lay beside the man. He picked it up and checked the conversation with him and Tim. He started at Tim's most recent text that James had yet to reply to.
"It's not you. It's me. I found someone new." He read aloud, and with that, James broke down. Adam pouted. "Get up." He said sternly. "Wh-wha-" James stammered. "Get. Up. Get dressed. Wear something nice. We're going over there to show Tim what he's missing out on." And with that James got ready while Adam picked out his clothes. James finished up and they headed to Adam's car. And they drove off. Once they made it to Tim's house they knocked on the door. No one answered. They knocked again. Still no answer. Adam was about to kick the door when James opened it with the key that Tim had given him. They looked around downstairs, finding no sign of Tim or anyone else. Until they heard two voices up in Tim's room. One being Tim's and the other a more feminine voice, that sounded a lot like Jaiden's...
