Detective Michael Hood felt crushed. His one witness to the whole murder lay in front of him in a pool of deep red blood. Who had silenced Viv? It had to be the person that murdered Colly West.

Michael was solving the mystery of Colly West an opera singer who was found stabbed to death in her apartment two months ago.

Colly was found with two stab wounds to the heart and chest and lay on her expensive king-sized bed amongst the bloody sheets face up, wide eyed and her lips slightly parted. Her blonde curly long locks had streaks of blood and the brightness of her blue eyes seemed dull.

Michael and his team searched for weeks looking for evidence that could lead them to the perpetrator however the murderer was a genius in covering his or her tracks.

Then Viv contacted Michael secretly telling him that he had witnessed everything and that they should meet somewhere discreet like near the dump yard just out of town. Michael was ecstatic to learn the truth only to be disappointed in finding his witness lying dead amongst dirt and debris.

"He was the key to our investigation." Officer Lane said dismally as he zipped the black body bag closed.
Michael felt defeated and annoyed. He shrugged and walked off.

Back to square one, back to being left in the dark about the murderer, he thought as he started his car and drove off cursing silently.
I have to bring justice to Colly, not only was she an amazing singer but a good friend of mine as well.

Michael started the engine and drove off, his mobile rang and he saw that it was a private call nevertheless he answered.
"Meet me at fourth avenue amongst the maple trees in the park." The female voice ordered.
"Who is this? Why?" Michael asked.
"I know what happened to Colly...I saw it all." She said.
"I will be there shortly." Michael replied.

Michael pressed the gas pedal to increase speed in the vehicle and whizzed down the town road. He drove past the sky scraper apartments making his way to fourth avenue.

Michael parked his car along the curb and scurried towards the maple trees to meet the mystery woman. He felt his right side making sure that his gun was not out of reach. Michael walked into the forest like place realising that there was not a soul in sight except his.

His heart pounded and his breathing increased as his feet crunched on dead leaves and twigs as he stumbled forward. Michael saw a figure appear in front of him and he felt his heart skip a beat. His throat and mouth became dry like sandpaper and he felt his blood go cold with disbelief.

"It is you." He murmured stunned.
She cackled then said, "Yes Michael it is me, Colly West."
"But how? I saw you lying dead that day, I saw your body sink to the ground for God sake!" Michael exclaimed.
Colly laughed then said, "That is what you saw Michael, that wasn't me it was my identical twin Sara."

"Sara? I didn't know you had a twin."
Of course Michael would not have known after all he and Colly were friends for a couple of months since the day she had moved into town and sang opera voluntary at the theatre.

Michael remembered the first day he had seen Colly on stage all, beautiful and dazzling under the light. He remembered her ruby red lips and sunny blonde hair gleaming. She wore a stunning white and gold evening dress that showed a generous amount of cleavage. And now she looked like a blonde wicked witch with ulterior motives rather than singing.

"Why did you fake your own death Colly?" Michael demanded.
"I had a million debts that my singing couldn't beat hence I killed Sara and took her identity." Colly said.
Michael glared at Colly feeling abominable and devastated, how could someone destroy their own flesh and blood and feel absolutely nothing about it? Well Colly could. She was a heartless and dangerous woman. A wolf under sheep skin.

"Surrender yourself Colly you coming with me." Michael instructed as he walked over to Colly.
"Oh you wrong Mister I am going no where with you." Colly said aiming her shot gun at Michael.

Michael immediately froze into place. He was glad to have called back up for this meeting. Now all he had to do was stall the woman and buy time.
He did exactly what Colly had told him. He spoke to her trying to pacify her however it was no good. Just then a million footsteps filled the air, Michael was relieved that his back up arrived and Colly felt trapped like a rat amongst cats.

She figured that Michael had brought along his team and he had stalled her in finishing him off.
"I should have finished you while I had the chance and then ran off." Colly sneered as she felt strong hands grab her from behind and snap cuffs on her wrists.

"Farewell Colly enjoy singing in jail, I will pop in for an autograph." Michael said tauntingly.
Colly spat at Michael's direction who calmly stood and watched as she had been taken away.
Mission accomplished, Michael thought with relief and walked off.
