Part 27

"I must turn you in Hagrid. The thing that girl must be stopped and slaughtered. That is what's best for the school" Tom says pointing his wand at him

"You can't. It wasn't him. Aragog never killed anyone. Somebody else must have done it" He said grabbing hold of the wooden box behind him

"Monsters are not pets Hagrid. Stand aside"

Hagrid was refusing. Tom casted his spell at the box and suddenly a spider crawled out. Hermione jumped in my arms as it crawled out the door. She didn't like spiders.

"I'll have your wand for this Hagrid" Tom said

Suddenly I felt myself fly out of the book and back in the common room. Hermione landed right next to me.

"The girl that died? Hagrid is responsible. That can't possibly be true" Hermione whispers standing up

"None of this makes sense. We need to ask him about it tomorrow. He couldn't possibly be at fault" I told her

We both hugged goodnight and walked back to our separate rooms. I changed in my pajamas and laid down on my bed. Hagrid must have an explanation for this? I couldn't believe he was at fault for this. How did Tom even know it was Hagrid?There was too many questions running though my mind, and I could just figure out the answers tomorrow.

The next day....

After classes Hermione and I did our homework, as well as helped other students with theirs. I then ran upstairs and grabbed my cloak so Hermione and I could talk to Hagrid tonight without getting caught this time. Once the common room was mostly clear, Hermione and I walked out of the portrait and threw the cloak over us.

We avoided students and walked all the way down to Hagrids hut. We finally made it to the door and knocked hoping he would answer. I was surprised because he answered the door pointing a crossbow at us.

"Hagrid what is that for?" Hermione asked taking the cloak off, clearly just as surprised as i was

"Sorry. I was expecting....never mind, please come in for some tea" He said putting the cross bow down and letting us in

I walked over to his table and pulled the chair out for Hermione. She turned around and I could see her blush realizing what I did. I then took a seat next to her.

"So what can I do for you kids? It's rather late, and I don't want you two getting detention again" He said happily, placing cups in front of us and pouring the tea

I could tell something was off with Hagrid because he didn't stop pouring the tea, causing the cup to overflow.

"Hagrid....can we ask you something?" I asked him

"Of course" I looked over to Hermione and she just nodded

"Well with all the students getting petrified, do you happen to know who opened the chamber of secrets?" She asked him

"What you two need to understand is...." but before he could finish answering, there was a knock on the door

I quickly grabbed Hermione and I pulled my cloak over us. No one was supped to know we were here. I saw him pick up the crossbow once again and open the door. It was Dumbledore and minister of magic.

"Hello Hagrid sorry to bother you this late" Dumbledore said

"No problem at all. Please come in" He put the crossbow down once again and moved aside

"Now Hargrid, there has been three attacks this year on muggleborns. This isn't good and the ministry needs to act. I'm sorry but your record speaks for itself" The minister said

"Hagrid has my full confidence Cornelius. That needs to be understood"

"I'm sorry but I need to take him" The minister said

I heard the door open and Lucius Malfoy walked in. I recognized him because I saw him last year dropping Draco off at the platform, that and the twins told me they saw him in diagon alley before school started.

"I get no pleasure in doing this Hagrid, but that is not the only reason I'm here. Dumbledore, it would seem I along with the rest of the board would like you to step down. With all these attacks happening, there will be no muggleborns left by the end of the year" He said, he didn't sound the least bit sorry

Hagrid started yelling at Lucius, but he was interrupted by Dumbledore.

"If the governess asks me to step down I will. But you understand that, with help from others, everything will be as it should be soon" Dumbledore says turning towards us

Could he see us?

"Shall we?" The minister asks walking out behind Dumbledore and Lucius.

"If anyone was needing answers or anything, all they we need to do was follow the spiders. That is all I have to say" Hagrid said loudly before walking out

We looked out the window to make sure the last was clear.

"Harry he wants us to follow the spiders tonight. That has to lead us towards something. What are we going to do about professor Dumbledore?" Hermione asked me

"I don't know but we need to hurry before anyone notices our absence. We have to find those spiders" I told her placing the cloak back over us

We walked back outside to look for the spiders. I wonder what they are going to lead us to?
