I laid on my couch, my Dad, the King's servant approached me, barely glancing up from her tablet. She spoke as though she was speaking to one of the people outside of this kingdom. She has never liked me, she saw me as a liability.

I scoffed at her "Sarah, you forgot when you approach you say Your Royal Highness. Now be on your way."

Before meeting dad, I slipped on a pair of short denim shorts and a sheer black singlet. It was a long walk to my fathers office. It was a level below my sleeping quarters and on opposite wings. I didn't knock as a barged through the doors. Stood in front of my dad was a rather attractive young man. His hair was neatly styled and he was smartly dressed in a suit. His hands were linked behind his back.

I smiled at dad then glanced back to the attractive man. Dad cleared his throat to get my attention. "James tells me that you fired another one of your bodyguards. He said something about poor bodily habits?" I nodded my head refusing to add any more. Dad continued "this is the last time. This man is Jasper Evans. Mr Evans is going to be your new bodyguard. This time you are going to make it work Sophie."

I smiled sweetly over to dad "of course, father."

Dad wrapped me into his big strong arms "I picked him by myself. I believe you will like him. At least, he will be here for some time to come regardless of your constant complains."

After father dismissed us, I started the long walk towards my bedroom. I knew he was only a few meters behind me. He was taking in his surrounds as well as my mannerisms. That's how it always was like, that is how they tried to figure out how I operated.

I could tell he was still nervous even though he had spent more than ten minutes in my company. I spoke over my shoulder not pausing to look at him "do I make you nervous."

He wore a lopsided smile "yeah, just a bit."

I laughed at him amused that he had a outright admitted to being nervous. I asked a question that I knew would throw him "is it because I am hot or because I am the princess."

He ran his hand nervously over his chin automatically responding "because you are the princess."

As I reached my bedroom door I turned to face him, he stood with his back against his wall and his hands positioned as they were in my fathers' office. I took a step towards him "whatever happens in my bedroom, you never open your mouth about. I must also tell you that does include my father. You do not enter this room unless you have my permission. We are not friends Mr Evans so don't treat me as such."

The look on his face didn't falter "thank you for explaining your rules Your Royal Highness but I must explain to you that everything that happens I am required to tell the King. I work for him, he is who employs me. I would never disrespect you and I ask the same respect. If there are any issues please come to me and I will try to the best of my ability to assist in fixing it."

I scoffed at him "if you want my respect then you wouldn't report everyone of my movements to my father. All this talk about respect you barely even look legal age."

He smiled at me, rubbing his arm as he slowly relaxed "I am well over legal age Your Royal Highness. I am very good at my job."

I nodded my head finding his words extremely reassuring "I will see you in the morning Mr Evans. Before I go I have to ask since we will be spending quite a bit of time together, please call Sophie."

He nodded "if you wish, Sophie. Please do call me Jasper then."

I smiled back at him "okay Jasper." Without another word I entered my bedroom and got ready for bed. Tomorrow was going to be a long day, especially, since it's the first event in so long that I would be doing sober.

——————————————————-Next Day——————————————————-
My eyes blinked open, they were attacked with bright light. I threw the covers back over my head grumbling. He spoke up "your majesty said to come straight in and open you blinds. Your father said you aren't a morning person and the best way to get you up would to be to wake you up with a cup of black coffee. I have sat in on your bedside table."

I grumbled in a whiny way "Jasper, go away."

He sighed tugging at my blankets "come on Sophie, time to get up you have a busy day."

I pulled them further over my head "thirty more minutes and don't pull my blankets."

Suddenly, the blankets were ripped off my body exposing my nearly naked self. He looked away keeping my body out of his eye sight. I pulled my cover up off the back of the chair and wrapped it around myself. He still had his back to me. I pulled the cup of coffee into my hands "you can turn around Jasper." He did as I said, as he glanced over what I now wore I asked "what has my father told you about me?"

Jasper shrugged "if you have something in particular to ask please don't beat around the bush."

I laughed at him  "What I wanted to know is if my father had told you any of my past?"

Jasper shook his head standing back in position "he told me many things about your past but, he didn't go into huge detail. He said when you are ready you would tell me in your own time. Is there something your worried about?"

I shrugged my shoulders playing with the belt on my coverup. I took a huge drink of my hot coffee, "all in due time."

I put the coffee back down scooting off my bed walking into my huge walk in wardrobe. Of course, Jasper followed in behind me. "I have spoken to Your Majesty the Queen and she has given me today's schedule. We will start our day with brunch at an all woman's Self Defence Club. Then from there it's to the Retirement Home. Then we need to be at the Children's Hospital by two. From there we have one last stop. Your mother has asked that one remain a secret until we arrive."

I nodded my head pinching my nose, I glanced to Jasper to see that he was already watching me. I forced a small smile onto my face "okay, I can do this. It's not that bad right Jasper?"

He smiled back "it's not that bad Your Royal Highness."
