Last breath
No thoughts
Peaceful smile
Ready to go

Perfect timing
Silent slip-away
Whispered thoughts
Forgiveness asked
No-one knows

Quiet murmur
Declaration of joy
Requested happiness
Gentle touch
Glassy eyes
Silent tears

Laid in the ground
Wrapped in a blanket
Trapped in wood
Locked in dirt

Only a stone
Left to remember
Staring spectators
Hopeful wishes
Dejected sighs
Whispered consolances

It wasn't too soon...
