Chapter 11: One With The Beast

Start from the beginning

Aela: Then wouldn't he be happy?

Lydia: He could be more conscious about how he obtains it. Maybe he doesn't like power if it changes him or causes him to lose part of himself. You could argue that he has the soul of a dragon, but that's a part of him.

Aela: You have a point. We should get going now.

TIMESKIP

Dovahkiin POV

We completely cleared out the camp knowing Skjor went in before us. When we got to the end and killed their leader, we saw a site that we wish we didn't have to see. We found Skjor dead on the ground. He was killed in battle not to long ago. All of us felt sad, but Aela was hit the hardest by it.

Aela: *sobs* SKJOR! NO!

Lydia: Dammit, he would've lived if we had come here in time.

Dovahkiin: This reminds me of something.

Lydia: What does it remind you of?

Dovahkiin: When I was a werewolf, I would howl and every wolf that heard it would come and insist me in battle. Those wolves reminded me of all my allies. While I'm still not sure how I feel about being a werewolf, I have learned one thing. Just like wolves, we are stronger together. Even if I'm a Nord, I still shouldn't let my pride or the glory of battle get the better of me. That doesn't mean that Skjor was to a fool to come here. Sometimes we must fight alongside others in order to accomplish our goals.

Lydia: Sort of like how I fight at your side.

Dovahkiin: Yeah

Aela: *wipes tears away* Y-yeah, you're right.

Dovahkiin: Really?

Aela: As the Companions, we must all stand as one. We are like family, we are a pack, and no one kills our own and get away with it. I want to ask both of you a favor?

Both: What might that be?

Aela: Help me avenge Skjor. We will lay waste to the Silver Hand and rid them from Skyrim. They aren't even heroes, they're just bandits who use silver weapons. However, we must keep this a secret from the others.

Dovahkiin: Why?

Aela: I feel as though Kodlak wouldn't agree to this.

Lydia: She makes a good point.

Dovahkiin: Alright...LETS DO THIS!

TIMESKIP

Dovahkiin POV

As much as we know, the Silver Hand were on the run. They were running out of places to hide. I got to do way more training along with the training Farkas agreed to help me on. It's been difficult, but I've been noticing myself get faster and stronger. We would do task that Aela would give to us along with jobs the other Companions gave to us. Sometimes I would find Words of Power from these jobs or go to the Greybeards because they can locate them.

Kodlak: (Y/N), I need to have a chat with you.

Dovahkiin: Is there a problem?

Kodlak: Be honest with me, have you, Lydia, and Aela been doing your own crusade against the Silver Hand?

Dovahkiin: Yes Kodlak, but we had to do it for Skjor.

Kodlak: Yes, but you've drawn more blood than there was necessary. Killing their leader was vengeance enough.

Dovahkiin: I'm sorry for going behind your back. I'll tell Lydia and Aela to stop.

Kodlak: You tell Lydia, I'll handle Aela. Before this matter came up, some of the others have been coming to me with concerns about you. Aela and Lydia say that it involves you being a werewolf. Is this true?

Dovahkiin: Yes

Kodlak: From how they describe it, you seem irritated about it or even mad at yourself. Does it have to do with your destiny as Dragonborn?

Dovahkiin: Possibly? Look, I don't think it's a curse even though all of my experiences with it have been a bit hectic. If I think it's a curse, then can being a Dragonborn be a curse? Both without training and control can make you become a monster, both cause fear to others, and both can cause you to fear yourself for what you can do.

Kodlak: I understand if you despise being a werewolf. I am trying to find a cure before the end of my time on Nirn. I desire to join the heroes in Sovngarde rather than be another animal in the Hunting Grounds.

Dovahkiin: You've found a cure?

Kodlak: Yes, but you must do a task in order for us to get this cure.

Dovahkiin: What's that?

Kodlak: The Companions weren't originally werewolves until about 400 years ago were we made a deal with hagravens called the Glenmoril Witches. They cursed us to be beasts and it has been that way since. It was their magic that turned us and it will be their magic that will return us to normal.

Dovahkiin: Me and Lydia will retrieve kill them

Kodlak: One more thing, make sure you wipe them all out and collect all of their heads in order to break the curse.

Dovahkiin: I will
