I woke up, excited for the day to come. My stepfather and my mother were out of town for the month and so I was left alone with two hundred dollars to pay for my groceries while they were gone. I was strictly told not to throw any parties, but they never said I couldn't go to any. Prom was next month, a couple days before my mother and step dad were supposed to come back, and I was determined to go.

But as of late, I've been really really sick, but I haven't told my mom in fear that I would have to stay home. I'm sure they can smell the puke that reeks in my bathroom, but they pay no mind to it. Craving some chocolate, I scavenge the kitchen for any. Of course, there is none, as since they took it all on vacation with them, so I could "feel what it's like being an adult".

Feeling lonely, I write a note to Destiny before I go out to buy food. dear destiny, i love you so much, it hurts. not in a bad way tho! please come over! i miss you dearly T~T. ❤️️/ Cassidy. I run to my Ferrari and as I'm running, I put the note in an envelope to mail to her. Destiny is away in Tokyo, Japan for one more week, and I can't wait to see her.

I drive to the post office, even though my parents disapprove of me going there, and drop off the mail. "Shit! I left my wallet at home!" I pressed the button that called my maid and asked her to bring it out for me and told her that I'll be there in a minute.

A couple minutes later, I get a call from my mom. "Hello?" I answer.

"Hey sweetie, just to let you know, there is two hundred dollars on the table for groceries while we're gone. And remember, don't throw any parties while your stepfather and I are gone."

"Yes, mom," I reply.

"Oh, and one more thing. You need to start exercising more and eat less. Your stomach is starting to bulge a little bit."

"Okay mom, I love you."

"Love you too pumpkin. Chad says he loves you as well. Good-bye."

I hang up, worried. Chad was my stepfather, and I know all too well what he means when he says "I love you". He wants me to call him Daddy, which I don't even call my father. It really disgusts me.

Looking at my stomach, I think about what my mom said about needing to lose weight. There was a tiny belly bulge at the bottom of my stomach. I felt it, and it didn't feel like fat.

I eventually got to the store. It wasn't really much to look at. Golden isles, marble shelves studded with diamonds, the usual. I sighed. They need to up their game and their quality of food. I find the candy isle, and I'm disappointed that the Willy Wonka bars aren't there anymore. They only cost $50, so it isn't very surprising that they're out of stock at the moment.

I walk to the front counter, pulling out a fake smile. You have to have good employee service if you want the employees to get you stuff from the back. The lady looks up and greets me.

"Bonjour, Cassidy. Need anything?"

I recognize my childhood friend and use a real smile instead of a fake one.

"Hey, Anouk! I didn't recognize you! Actually, can I get a Willy Wonka from the back?"

"Oui."

I watch as the french exchange student walked to the back.

A couple years ago in the sixth grade, Anouk had came from France as a french exchange student for a bit. She became besties with Bailee and I, so when she had to leave back for France, she refused. Back then, Bailee wasn't such a bully, and actually was my friend. Or at least I thought...

Anouk came back, and saw me glaring off in space. "Hullo? Hullooo? CASSIDY!!" I snap out of it. "Huh?"

"You were glaring at something. I hope I didn't upset you in any way." Startled, I reply, "Oh no. You're fine. I was just... remembering."

Anouk stood there silently. She knew all too well what had happened, so she changed the subject. "I hear the 'rent's are out of town, oui?" I giggled.

"I'm not allowed to throw any parties, Anouk. You know the rules." Anouk rolled her eyes. "Have they said you couldn't go to any parties?"

I gasped as I realized what she was implying. She winked. "That'll cost ya 50 dollars." I pulled out a wad of cash, and started counting out $50. "Good thing these are so cheap, lol," I say as I start walking out the doors. "Party at my place at 8!" Anouk called out.

Nibbling on the chocolate, I savour each bit of chocolate that lands on my tongue. I continue heading to the post office, determined to send that letter to Destiny, when on the side of the road, I hear a faint mewling. I pull over to go investigate. On the side of the road there was a baby kitten! I pick it up and bundle it in one of the blankets I have in my car. Mum isn't going to be happy about me bringing home another cat... I ring up my maid and tell her to prepare for a new guest, then continue to the post office.

"I would like to mail this to Tokyo, Japan, please," I say as I slide the letter to the people at the front counter. "Oh hello again, Cassidy." spat someone from behind me. Uh oh. Bailee was there! "Mailing a letter to your precious Destiny, I see? Oh Destiny, I LOVE you!! Come home to me and we can get--"

"SHUT UP BAILEE!!" I start glaring at her. "What are you doing here anyway, don't you have to be Miss Prim and Perfect? Miss Prim and Perfect certainly wouldn't want to get caught in a common-folk post office. Don't you own your own jet? You can just fly to wherever you wanna mail a letter to! Deliver it yourself! But of course, that's too much work for precious Bailee!" I glance at her bodyguard, who was preparing to square me in the nose. "I bet you had him carry you to your car, drive you here, and carry you inside. You may be pretty, but you are all looks, not personality. Oh, and, don't be jealous of me for having a better and longer relationship with Destiny than you've had with your three boyfriends."

Bailee looked absolutely stunned. Once she realized that everyone was staring at her, and that she had better back herself up, otherwise she'd look like an idiot, she recovered. "Well, at least I am not such a low-life to let myself be bullied and raped on a daily basis! You're a-" Bailee didn't get to finish because I socked her in the face. I hurriedly mailed my letter and got out of there as fast as I could, tears streaming down my face.
