Chapter twenty-four

I walked in the front door, it was about ten in the afternoon. Akemi was in that little seat/carrier thing, which I held tightly since she was so young. Only a month old to be exact, she was so small and adorable. I heard someone gasp, which brought my attention back to the real world. "Oh my! She's so cute!" Bon squealed, jumping up and down in excitement. Chica walked up to me and Akemi, she looked down at her in awe. "Foxy made this adorable precious thing?" Chica asked in amazement, she looked back up at me wide eyed.

"Of course aye did", Foxy said walking in the room, he wrapped an arm around me, it rested on my shoulders. "There's the little darling!" Carrie yelled as she ran in the room, Duke followed closely behind her. Duke was in his human form, which I've only seen three or four times. "Oh look, you brought a child... woopty doo", he said crossing his arms over his chest, still standing on the other side of the room. Bon grabbed Duke's hand, and pulled him to where I was. This took Duke by surprise, he slightly stumbled as he was practically dragged across the room by a fourteen year old girl. "See Duke, isn't she beautiful?" Bon asked looking up at him, Duke pulled his hand away from Bon's grip and crossed his arms over his chest once again.

"Can I hold 'er?" Foxy asked before softly missing my cheek. "Of course you can, you're her father after all", I said, I placed the carrier/seat thing she was in on one of the tables. I carefully unbuckled her, pulling her close to my chest. Foxy bit his bottom lip nervously, I smiled at him. "Hold her like this, ok?" I said, he nodded his head, I carefully handed Akemi over to Foxy. He smiled at her as she lay in his arms. "Hey Akemi, my beautiful lass", Foxy cooed, Akemi did  soft smile. "The' lass smiled at me", Foxy said in excitement. "Can I hold her? Please", Bon asked, looking at me with giant puppy eyes. I gave a soft chuckle and nodded my head, Bon smiled.

Foxy hesitantly handed Akemi to Bon, she smiled down at her. "Aww, she's lovely", Bon cooed, she was surprisingly calm with her. Duke was even surprised that Bon was so calm, this seems like the first time she has ever been this calm. Once almost everyone had held Akemi, we were back to our normal deal, well almost. I sat in a chair cradling Akemi in my arms, Foxy sat next to me with his head on my shoulder, he was looking down at her. Bon and Pip sat on the stage, sitting Indian style, they were clapping their hands together, a game I haven't played since I was young.

"Double double this this, double double that that. Double this, double that- Bon, you messed up again", Pip said laughing, Bon giggled some. "Sorry, its confusing!" she complained childishly, Pip laughed and playfully pushed Bon's shoulder. A friendship to last forever, Duke had trudged off to wherever, and Carrie was determined to find him. It was cute she liked him so much, even though he was so stubborn, I smirked at my mental comment.

"Hey lass", Foxy said as he walked back in the room, bending down to kiss my cheek. "Hey sweetheart", I said, Foxy let out a small chuckle. He sat in he chair next to me, I handed Akemi to him gently and stood up. I reached up and stretched, groaning softly as my back popped."Don' do that t' me lass", Foxy complained, I scoffed at him. "I didn't mean to", I said sitting back in the chair I rested in, Akemi let out a soft whimper and began to cry. Foxy began to rock her softly in his arms, shushing Akemi. "I think Akemi is right, we should be getting home", I said yawning, Foxy pouted slightly before handing her to me. I kissed Foxy, he then leaned down and softly kissed Akemi's forehead.

I put her in the small seat/carrier, buckling her up. I waved bye to everyone as I walked out of the building, I placed Akemi in the back seat, buckling her seat in place and having it face backwards. We drove home in complete silence, other than the occasional whimpers Akemi made.
