Awoken

The loud sound of a Transportation pod awoke a young red haired girl from her slumber. She groaned softly and sat up in her isolation chamber, she looked at the digital clock on the right wall.

6:23am

"Oh no..." She groaned once more and opened the chamber quickly. This girl's name was Hishi Bloom, and she was running quite late for the last day of high school.

'Last day of high school and I'm going to be late, just great.' She thought as she bustled about her room getting ready. She had twenty minutes to get to the auditorium for selection day. Where all new graduates are selected for various jobs, based on close observation of your talents and actions throughout high school.

She finished getting ready and requested a Transportation pod to The Academy of Knowledge, by pushing a button on the wall. Suddenly a blind slid up revealing a door to open. She opened it and a Transportation pod awaited her. She stepped in and headed off to the most nerve racking event of her life.

Gladly Hishi was not late to the Selection Ceremony. She sat in her assigned seat as did everyone else in her grade. One by one they called the Graduating students up.

Hishi's friend Falei got called up and she looked incredibly nervous the instructor opened his mouth to speak.

"Falei Ray your new job is, Galaysha City Task Force trainee."

She smiled happily because that is exactly what she wanted, that made Hishi happy as well. Her heart fluttered more as each student went up and time seemed slower than normal.

Another one of her dear friends got called up next.

Ginge was nonchalant about the whole situation and he stood there on stage as the instructor told the whole class his job.

"Ginge Ranger your new job is, Pod Mechanic." No one was surprised about that, he loved the different types of transportation pods and knew everything about them.

Now it was Hishi's turn, the instructor called her name. She slowly walked to the stage her jade eyes squinting from the brightness of the stage lights.

"Hishi Bloom, you are the next... Galaysha President." Everyone in the auditorium got quiet, and her heart stopped.

'No way.' She thought as the current President, Onnsha came out of the back.

In Galaysha, Presidents can only be female. And had the trademark heart shaped birthmark on the back of their leg. She knows she doesn't have one, so it must have been a mistake.

"B-but Madam Onnsha, I don't have a heart shaped birthmark on the back of my leg." She said very softly to the tall lady with long black hair and gray eyes.

"Of course you do sweetheart, turn around and lift up your skirt a little. I'll show you that you do."

Hishi slowly turned around and lifted up her skirt, her face turned from shock to horror as she watched on the big screen in front of her.

There it was, in the middle on the back of her thigh was a heart shaped birthmark.
