Chapter one: The night of.

After the wedding with James, my love, I've never felt so lonely. I know he loves me!! It's just working as a CEO takes a lot out of someone, even if that someone was an incubus. Whenever he came home, it was like opening my dream gift. He works so hard, I know he does it for me.. I can't help but feel guilty..

Like every night, James opens the doors after a long day of his work. I run and hug him, tighter than normal.

"(Y/N) is everything alright..?" James says as I keep my hold on him. "Everything is perfect, as long as I'm here with you." James returned the embrace before kissing me sweetly, I purr against his lips quietly. "What would you like for dinner tonight, love? We can go somewhere, I can cook." "I think you've done enough today. How about I cook?" I say with excitement, I loved cooking for James! "If that's what you would like to do." I do a cheery dance. I know exactly what I'm going to make him.

As I grab everything needed for my perfect dinner, I just get more and more happy. Cooking for James was always fun, especially when he has no idea what I'm making. James sits in the dining room and talks about work as I cook his dinner.

"Honestly, I think I messed up becoming CEO. It's a huge job that takes time away from me being with you, and I can't help but feel like every morning when I leave for work... it feels like I'm leaving you.." James said in a tone I never heard before. I look up from my dish and say, "You only do this to support me. US! Listen, if you truly don't like your job I will go get one. I would do anything, as long as I get to spend this lifetime with you."

As I finish plating the food, James looks surprised at what I made. A perfectly done steak with a baked potato and mint garnish. As I set his plate in front of him, he turns my face to his and kisses me. "Thank you, it looks wonderful." I smile and set my own dish down and start eating.

We talk whilst eating. Once finished we place our dishes in the dishwasher, run it, then get ready for bed. James made himself comfy, shirtless, as I put on one of his shirts and layed down on his chest and I fell asleep with him singing to me.

My dream blank, a clean slate, that didn't last long. Suddenly, a heat erupted along with a large amount of screams. A shiver of fear runs up my back, what is happening? Where is James? Where are ANY of the boys? A figure with green markings and horns flies across the plain, SAM!!

I run towards him before realising the huge cut into his chest. "What happened?!" I said upset yet more concerned than anything. "You know what happened. Wait.. WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!" I know what happened? Really, what is going on?! "I don't even know!! Just get patched up-" A very strong arm covers my mouth and waist and starts carrying me away from Sam, causing me to squirm and attempt screaming. "Shhh, you know me, Love." JAMES?! WHAT WAS JAMES DOING?! I squirm even more, why was he doing this?

"Stop squirming!! You're being difficult!" His demon voice fully breaking through at this point, "THIS IS JUST A DREAM!! THIS ISN'T REALLY HAPPENING," I say. It's true, this is JUST a dream. James would never harm me, right? "Hun, this may be a dream now. The future is yet to happen." My heart stops.. Future? What does that even mean?! "PUT ME DOWN RAESTREO!!" I say his real name. His eyes glow a vicious gold color, I shouldn't have done that.. He slams me to the floor- "GAHH!!" I hold my stomach, jesus that hurt more than what it should.

"That is no way for you to talk to your husband, let alone me." I'm speechless. The man I swore to love, the man I gave my life to... he would take it. He steps closer and closer to me as I back away until I hit a wall. His gold eyes staring into my soul, before he can finish his spell Sam tackles him to the ground. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING JAMES?! THAT IS THE WOMAN YOU LOVE! YOU DARE TO STEP NEAR HER AGAIN IN THE WAY YOU ARE RIGHT NOW, I WON'T HESITATE TO RIP YOUR HEAD OFF!" What was Sam saying? Why was he even defending me? Why was he treating his own brother like this? The questions were spinning in my head, before I wake up in a cold sweat in complete fear of the man next to me.
