It was on July 22, 2009, and became generally available on October 22, 2009. It was previously known by the codenamesBlackcomb and Vienna. Windows 7 has the version number NT 6.1. Since itsrelease, Windows 7 has had one service pack. Its predecessor is the Windows Vista and the minimum requirement are the following:

-1 (GB) RAM (64 Bit)RAM (32 Bit) or 2 GB RAM (64- Bit)

And lastly the Windows Server 2008 R2 it  was released on July 22, 2009 and became available on October 22, 2009. Its code name is whistler server r2 while its predecessor is Windows server 2008. the minimum requirement are  PROCESSOR with1.4 GHz speed,MEMORY-512 MB RAM, AVAILABLE DISK SPACE-32 GB and OPTICAL DRIVE- DVD-RAM drive.
