A box full of roses

-Friday-
'Hey, wait for me!!' y/n yelled while catching up to their best friend.
It's been five years since Izuku and y/n met and they have been super close ever since. They went to middle school together, now they both are in class 1a, they had countless sleepovers, lots of birthday parties, they told each other every secret and they saw each other nearly every day.

But one day something changed...

'Hm?' Izuku turned around to see who was running towards him.
'Oh, hi y/n!'
'Hey Izu-chan! How are you? I wanted to know if you'd like to come to my place today?'
'I'd like to, but I'm going to get some stuff with my mom today, means I'm not going to be home until the evening.'
'I see, well I guess another time then?'
'Yeah sure' the greed haired boy smiled.

-Monday-

'Hey Todoroki, have you seen Izu-chan?'
'No, I haven't. He told me he would stay home today because he wasn't feeling well.'
'Oh, okay' y/n said a bit disappointed.

(*=are the thoughts)
*I wanted to give him his birthday present today! He also didn't respond to any of my text messages over the weekend. Well, I hope he gets well soon.*

>Lunch Break<

Y/n was eating their food when Ochako came over. 'Hi y/n!' she said smiling.
'Hello Ochako' answered y/n.
'Do you know what happened to Izu-chan?'
'No, not really, he told me he wasn't feeling so good' Ochako said.
*Hm, that's just what Todoroki-kun said*
'I'll visit him today to look after him and make sure he's hopefully feeling better soon.' Y/n said.
'That's a good idea, I would come but my mom said she needs my help today.' Ochako responded.

>The day went by like any other and y/n made their way to Izuku's apartment. Y/n blushed a bit at the thought of them giving Izuku the present(which they kept in a little box)<

•knock! knock!•

Nothing
'Hello? Someone home?' Y/n yelled.
A sound
Y/n slowly pushed the doorknob down and opened the door.
'Izuku? Are you home?' Y/n yelled.
Y/n heard a cough from the bathroom.

'Izu-chan? Are you in the bathroom? Can I come in?' Y/n asked.

Another cough

'I'm coming in, okay?'
Nothing
Y/n slowly pushing the door knob down and opened the door.
•drop•
Y/n dropped the little box.
Blood?
And are those rose petals?

'Izuku!! What happened?!' Y/n yelled in panic.
Izuku looked at them, his eyes looked lifeless and cold, his hair was partly covered in blood, so were his hands and his mouth.
'Y-y/n?' Izuku coughed once more, rose petals coming out of his mouth.
Y/n dropped their bag and kneeled down in front of Izuku.
'W-what is all this?' they asked, still shocked.
*Is this what you call Hanahaki disease?*
Y/n grabbed Izukus bloody face and looked into his lifeless cold eyes.
'Hey, hey, can you hear me?' Y/n asked.
Izuku slightly nodded.
'Who is it? Who didn't return your feelings??'

Y/n asked, Izuku looked into y/n deep e/c eyes and whispered with his last energy:
'You'

Y/n eyes widened in shock.
*I did this to him?!
I didn't return his f-feelings?*
Izuku sunk even more into y/n arms.
He had to cough again, he felt the rose petals rising up in his throat, he felt the thorns , he felt the pain, he felt-

Lips

They were warm and soft,
they were gentle and sweet.
He felt air rushing through his lunges, the felt the pain fade and the feeling of being alive coming back.

Y/n pulled back and looked at Izuku.

He was looking,
he was breathing,
he was alive.

Y/n looked at Izuku 'Izu-chan? A-are you ok?
'Yes' he responded weakly while smiling at them.
'I-I can't believe I did this to you, I'm so sorry!' Y/n said. 'Don't be, I was the one who didn't tell you and kept it a secret' Izuku responded. Y/n smiled at him and gave him another kiss.

'Let's never keep our feelings a secret again' Y/n said.
Izuku nodded and smiled.
