On the second day of Roman's tour, he was given to some boy to work alongside with. The boy was a few inches shorter, on the height scale the tallest being Logan and the shortest being Patton, he was fourth from the bottom Roman being third from the top. The boy had a pale complexion compared to Roman's slightly tanned body. The boy wore a lab coat that was one size too big, his light brown hair dyed pink which matched his shirt. His light brown eyes scanned Roman's red eyes as he smiled, he glanced to his clipboard then back to Roman."Roman Knight?" The boy asked, tilting his head to the side. Roman was dumbstruck for a moment as he stared at the other before finding his voice.

"Oh ah- yep! And you are?"

"I'm Percy Magenta, your co-worker at this facility."

"So you're Percy? You're the one who sent me that letter-"

"Yep, glad you remember me. Anyways, you got the tour yesterday so let's start working, alright?" Percy said cheerfully, Roman just gave a small nod before being lead into a room with a single cage in it.

"This is Remy Starum, I'll tell you this now, you don't want to get to close to his cage," Percy warned.

"Why not? Why is he in a cage?" Roman asks, worried as he looked at Remy who sat with his legs crossed, looking up at Roman.

Remy had short dark brown hair with two miscolored eyes, his left one being a caramel brown and his right being a golden honey brown. Roman frowned, wanting to just let the other out but knew he couldn't just do that or he would get in trouble.

"All you have to do for today is check on him, give him his meals, and anything else he might need." Percy said, leaving the room.

"But that aside would you want to have breakfast with me? Then you can give some to our friend there." Roman nodded and the two walked to the cafeteria, getting breakfast and eating across from each other.

"So what made you send that letter to me?" Roman asked, taking a bite out of one his four waffles.

"Oh, you're still on about that? Is the only reason you came here was to find that out?"

"N-no, not at all, I'm just curious is all. I more went because going to the college was free and I thought, well.. it doesn't matter now."

"Oh, I see. Well, I choose you because you seemed promising."

"Promising?" Roman asks, raising an eyebrow.

"I knew you wouldn't turn down the offer since your family is poor and you were in such a watered-down rural area, that and looking at your school records well.. you were a pretty good artsy student but that wasn't what I focused on," Percy stated, slurping his maple syrup a bit.

"Then what did you focus on?"

"What you got for science and how you took a mythology class. You seemed to like learning about dragons and maybe thought magic was real, right?" Percy asked, Roman just nodding.

"Am I that obvious?"

"Kinda, sorta, yeah."

Roman just chuckled a bit, not sure if that was a compliment or not. Percy gave a small reassuring giggle, trying to make the other feel a little bit better at least. After finishing his breakfast Roman went to the front of the cafeteria and asked for some coffee and a small plate of eggs and bacon before leaving, going into Remy's room since it was only Remy there in a cage in the corner near the door.

Roman slid Remy the plate and coffee happily, Remy taking it and eating what was given to him, not exactly thanking him or thinking the new scientist would want to make idle chitchat with him. Roman sat in front of Remy's cage, looking at him sip his coffee quietly. Remy just raised an eyebrow, highly confused why Roman was still there and watching him now.

"Do you need something?" Remy asked, salt in his words.

"Oh- uh, well.. you look pretty human so I was wondering why you're here in a cage," Roman answered truthfully, wondering if they just locked up people who broke down or wanted to leave.

"It's kinda a long story and I don't know if you really have the time for that."

"I think I have more then enough time, Percy just told me today I'd be watching you and I think I'm doing a pretty good job if I say so myself."

"You're stupid for listening to Percy, you know that, right?"

"Why? Does he lock people up for not doing what he says? That honestly kind of scares me if that's what happened to you."

"Kind of but again it's a long story, how about you help me get out of here?"

"I dunno, we'd both get in trouble if I did that."

"Alright well.. do you want to see why I'm in here then?" Roman nods, more than a little curious, and Remy puts his hand out in front of himself signaling for Roman to take it which he does. Roman was confused slightly, the next thing he knew everything went black and he collapsed onto the floor. Remy sighed, pulling Roman's unconscious body closer to the cage to take his keys and open his cell, quickly leaving his room and trying to escape.

Remy made it out of the facility but there was nowhere for him to go, he could try swimming but the boats would most likely get him which made him hate that he wasn't a merman or something aquatic. Even if he was a bird hybrid or harpy he could be shot down and even if he did somehow make it he would be too tired to ever actually make it onto other land. He was trapped and it didn't take Percy long to walk calmly out of the facility and close enough to Remy to tranquilize him. Percy didn't even hesitate as he shot Remy with a tranquilizer. He walked up to Remy, grabbing the boy who was only an inch shorter than himself and headed back inside.
