Text:
"So teach us to number our days,
That we may gain a heart of wisdom."
- Psalms 90:12 NKJV
DO NOT WORRY
25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing?
26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet Your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin;
29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'
32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For Your Heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Matthew 6:25-34 NKJV
● Recognize how few our days are. Choose how to live, whether in good sphere (faith) or in bad sphere (worry).
● ILL-EFFECTS OF WORRY
1. It may damage your health.
2. It may cause the object of your worry to consume your thoughts.
3. It may disrupt your productivity.
4. It may negatively affect the way you treat others.
5. It may reduce your ability to trust in God.
● THE FORMULA ON HOW TO MAKE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE THE BEST OF YOUR LIFE...
I. Set Proper Priorities (First Things First)
>> Seek first the kingdom of God ( Matthew 6:33)
>> God does not have any favorites, but He does have intimates.
>> James 4:8 "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded."
>> God has promised in Jeremiah 29:13 "And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart."
>> Faith = Father First (putting the Father first)
>> Faith = assurance & conviction; believing that He is God; believing that He will do what He promised
>> Hebrews 6:11-12 "And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end, that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises."
>> Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen."
>> Jesus does not want only the prominence but the preeminence of our life. ( The first in everything)
>> Kingdom = rule or reign (God should be reigning in our everyday lives)
>> When you are truly seeking the King, you are automatically seeking for 3 things:
a. You are seeking for the glory of the King.
- 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."
b. You are seeking for the guidance of the King.
- Acts 9:6 "So he, trembling and astonished, said, "Lord, what do You want me to do?" Then the Lord said to him, "Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.""
c. You are seeking for the government of the King.
- The greatest liberty in the world is when you are controlled by the Right Master, JESUS! ❤
II. Seek Personal Purity
>> Seek first God's righteousness
>> Seeking God's character within us.
>> We inwardly experience God in our lives and we should also have an outwardly expression or manifestation.
>> 2 Corinthians 5:17 "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."
>> Faith is always seen by its fruit. Character is always seen by uts conduct.
>> Proverbs 20:12 "The hearing ear and the seeing eye, The Lord has made them both."
>> We cannot make a difference in the world if they cannot see the difference in us.
>> The Real Mark of a Christian - He/She makes it easier for others to believe in God.
>> What does it mean to seek God's righteousness?
a. We must desire it.
- Matthew 5:6 "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled."
b. We must derive it.
- Philippians 3:9 "and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;"
- 2 Corinthians 5:21 "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him."
- Righteousness should be inputted first before it can be imparted.
c. We must depict it.
- Matthew 5:48 MSG "In a word, what I'm saying is, Grow up. You're kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you."
III. Seek Promised Prosperity
>> All these things shall be added unto us.
>> People worry about:
a. Finances (Matthew 6:19-21)
b. Food (Matthew 6:25)
c. Fitness (Matthew 6:27)
d. Fashion (Matthew 6:27-29)
4 Lessons Children & Adults Need To Learn
1. You don't need everything you want.
2. You don't want everything you need.
3. God doesn't give us everything we want.
4. God always give us what we need in His perfect time.
CONCLUSION
Do you want to make the rest of your life the best of your life?
>> You allow Jesus Christ to be your Lord.
>> Put Him first.
>> Live every moment for Him and He will take care of the rest.
>> And you will find the rest of your life the best of your life.
