The alarm bells of the facility were deafening, even outdoors. The Sacramento Institute of Bionic research was on red Alert. Luckily for Eve and her father, Dr. August Webb, They had escaped before the lockdown.

"Eve, you know how important it is that Dr. Talon Black doesn't find you." Her father told her as they rushed into the strange car.

"I know dad," Eve replied, jumpstarting the car with her mind.

"He knows about you now. It isn't safe for either of us. If we don't get out of the city, I'll be dead by tomorrow, and you'll be back in there getting experimented on."

Eve cringed. She hated the facility. It was nice to know though that her dad was there for her the whole time she was there. without him, it would have been miserable.

Eve thought back to how this all started, 5 years ago.

She had been in a car accident, after sneaking out and stealing her parent's car. She only did it because she was acting out. Her mom had lost the battle with cancer a month prior and Eve was angry at everything. The rebellious driving act came to a halt when the car was hit side-on with a semi-truck. Eve had been officially declared dead, but 2 days later, she woke up in the facility, perfectly fine, with her dad smiling down at her.

She was the first of her kind now.

A bionic girl, entirely human aside from a chip that connects to her brain.

a chip so powerful it allows her to control machines within 50 meters of her to any extent.

They'd been working on it for years at the facility, but arriving at failure every time. Dr. Webb's success had to be kept under wraps, however, as he suspected devious intentions from Dr. Black.

So he told the facility only part of the story. All they knew was that eve's chip was keeping her alive and she had to stay there for monitoring. They had no idea about her full potential until now.

"I have a plan, but you won't like it." Her father spoke.

"Try me. If we see the sunrise tomorrow, I will." Eve replied solumnly, letting the air slide through her fingers outside the car window as they sped away.

"I'm going to erase your memory and leave you with my third cousins. I've only met them once but you'll be safe there. and Dr. Black won't find you unless you use your abilities. I've got new ID for you since you're supposed to be a permanent resident of the Marylands cemetery."

"And what if I do use my abilities? I struggled to control them for months when I first got them." Eve stumbled out.

"That's why I made this for you," he said, handing her a locket. "It has in-built interferances so as long as you're wearing it, you'll be a regular girl more or less."

"More or less? sounds reliable" Eve laughed.

"I promise it will work sweetheart. if you were a computer, this necklace would be like the off switch for the Bluetooth and wifi.  with no memories, it's likely you won't want to take it off."

"Why can't I come with you?" Eve asked.

"Its safer for you if we're apart."

"I'll miss you, dad."

"You won't even know who I am."
