There was once upon a time a special race who excelled in swordsmanship and possessed magic at the same time. That race was very uncommon and so forth dangerous. Thus, they did not work as soldiers but traveling merchant instead to make other race at ease. Amongst the race, there was a family of three who lived in a small village in a very powerful country and they eventually moved to the capital to expand their business. The child in the family dreamt of becoming a knight and obtain a peace in the warring world. S/he swore to her/himself that someday there would not be war and people would live in a peaceful world.
As the child grew up as a fine soldier. By holding his/her dream tightly and taking advantage of his/her powerful traits, s/he was called Magic Knight. Thus when s/he started as a squire, s/he was promoted and climbed up to the higher rank faster than the other. As time flew, s/he became a general known as one of the most dangerous and generous generals in the country. Although s/he was stern and strong, s/he was quite fragile to the word 'love' and 'peace'. S/he would not execute someone who stole for the sake of their family.
Unbeknownst to Magic Knight, the king had been destroying small villages to expand business territory, spreading terror to vulnerable people. When Magic Knight found out about it, s/he went to ask the king about the terror, asking if the peace of the country is just a fake peace. The king assured him/her that it was not fake, it was a real peace built for greater future and Magic Knight should take a part of it. Thence, Magic Knight went along the king's order. S/he began to destroy small and poor villages, invaded small neighboring countries, exterminated some clans that were considered as threats, and of course, lead the war. Magic Knight believed they were all for the greater good, for the peace of the world. That time also s/he could finally cut down a person who stole for the sake of their family.
"Dirts shall not create a peaceful world. They are always miserable and unfortunate. They have been living in hell and shall have no happy ending. We are helping them by ending their misery faster," said the king, "they would not submit to us and our peace and so they fought, yet they never won even once. We are only ending this war earlier."
And Magic Knight thought about it, thence s/he would agree with the king. If the war ended, nobody would suffer again.
After days went by, months went fly, years went dry. Magic Knight began to question his/her king's order. However, a part of him/her told him/her to keep going. Even though what s/he was doing at that time was simply destroying whatever in his/her king's way, that was for peace.
Peace?
Magic Knight was perplexed. S/he believed what s/he had been doing was the right thing, however his/her heart told him/her that it was not right, s/he was only creating a wrecked world behind a peaceful world. At the same time, a logic of him/her kept telling him/her that it was the thing that s/he wished for. However the way, it was to obtain a peaceful world that s/he always dreamt of, wished for, even though it would mean s/he would be a demon and go to hell because of it. Yet s/he tried to convince him/herself that s/he had to find the light, the right path to make a peaceful world. Her/his perplexion made her to take a break from his/her duty. Magic Knight went back to the village where s/he spent his/her childhood.
It was like a thunder in a bright sunny day. The village was no more. It was only black pitch ruins in the ground. Magic Knight was horrified, s/he walked around, staggering, trying to find something that s/he could find; might they be his/her childhood friends, a small memory, a sole survivor; anything that could make him/her stop and think what had happened in that village. And so s/he found it. It was in the house where s/he lived before. Although the house was just like the other, pitch black ruins, s/he could see a certain ground was disturbed in a certain way. Memories rushed into his/her mind. S/he finally gained her/his composure and dug that certain ground. What s/he found was something s/he expected, a time capsule that her/his best friend and s/he buried. However, s/he also knew that it was once opened before its time. Thus s/he opened it and found a letter that should not be there.
