The clear blue sky stretched across the horizon with barely any clouds for as far as the eye could see, the serenity and peacefulness of the calm day did not speak of the horrors that would take place that very night.

As dark clouds came racing across the once clear sky deep thunder began to rumble as poured down, with lightning flashes illuminating the streets as bright as day the unprepared civilians hurried through the storm a sudden sense of unease running through all of their minds

I observed this scene from the comfort of my families coffee shop sitting in the window sill sipping lightly on a hot chocolate I closed my eyes and sighed
"why do people never prepare for the unthinkable?" I whispered quietly to myself
"Because they don't think of it you freak!" Came the voice of my older brother Lucas he glared up at me from the table he was cleaning I calmly stood up and walked to the counter placing my hot chocolate upon it I grabbed my apron from where I had left it atop the counter and put it on tying my hair up into a messy bun. I turned back to Lucas
"Its rather unnecessary for you to do that everyone outside is trying to get out of the storm by finding shelter but our dear little cafe looks to much like a normal building for them to consider it a shop they're too absent minded hurrying about with one thing on their minds." I articulated
He stalked his way over to me and glared down with daggers in his eyes he threw the rag at my chest
"Stop!" He said firmly "just do your work and think about normal things like makeup or other girly things and maybe you'd make some friends"
I looked down at the rag now in my hands
"Seems like you'd still be in the rain." I breathed too quiet for him to hear

A/N: if your wondering why the pacing changed it's because the opening lines were for class then I went into my writing style so its a bit all over the place 😅 I'll keep it all in the same pacing from now on anyways see you in the nest chapter 😊
