"Alright (y/n), you're next. Hurry up and show the class your painting so we can be done with this," Ms. Bitters grumbled as I grabbed ahold of my canvas and carefully got out of my seat. After walking to the front of the room, I turn my canvas to the rest of the class for them to see. A lot of them seemed confused on what my painting was supposed to be. "So (y/n) eats weird food and makes weird looking paintings, that's so suspicious," one whispers to another classmate. "Yeah, now that I think about it, she really doesn't seem human at all," another one whispers. "She has been hanging out with Dib a lot and he's super obsessed with aliens. Maybe she really is one." The whispering became louder so that practically everyone in the classroom could hear what was being said.
"Lies!" Zim suddenly shrieked as he jumped on top of his desk, catching everyone's attention. "You fools believe that is an alien? Can you not see she is far too stupid to be one?" He pointed at me with a devilish smirk as I mentally sighed. "Yeah! Wait no! Don't call (y/n) stupid Zim, you-" Dib was interrupted by the sound of nails being scratched on a chalkboard. "Silence! All you quiet down so (y/n) can give her brief speech on her painting and Zim sit down!" she screeched as everyone immediately stopped talking. Zim reluctantly got back into his chair as he eyed Dib with annoyance. Ms. Bitters had yet again solved another conflict before it got out of hand, intimidation works wonders. I looked at my painting briefly as I thought on what I would say about it.
"I couldn't remember what The Starfull Night painting looked like, so I decided to paint a galaxy full of many stars instead. I used darker colors so that the stars would have more emphasis and it would seem more like night than day," I briefly explained as some of the students still appeared confused. "All right, do any of you have any questions about (y/n)'s failed recreation of The Starfull Night?" Ms. Bitters asked as several students began to raise their hands, much to my surprise. One by one they started to ask their questions, each one more probing than the last.
"So why paint a galaxy? Why not just what the sky looks like at night like most of us did?"
"Well, some galaxies look like the night sky. It was just the first thing that came to mind when I was painting."
"Did you paint it because you like space?"
"I'm not sure if that was the main reason I painted a galaxy, but I do like space it's interesting to say the least."
"Wow that's so weird. No wonder you get along so well with Dib, you're both into dumb stuff! I bet you like going after fake monsters too and believe in aliens. What other weird stuff are you into? Tell us!"
"That's not really a question about the painting thoug-"
A lot of students began to snicker and started blurting out similar questions like the last one. I could tell it was bothering Dib too, I could sense that he felt upset even though he appeared to be annoyed with the rest of the class. If they had stuck to trying to humiliate me, I would have been able to deal with that without any problems, but dragging him along into this was not cool with me. Zim also appeared to be somewhat bothered by this, which I found a little odd since he and Dib were not on good terms with each other, or maybe it was something else. Ms. Bitters appeared to be merely observing the whole situation, so in order to stop this situation it would be up to me. After a few more things were said, I began to answer the questions.
"I honestly like all of that stuff, what's so wrong about that? Having different interests is part of what makes everyone unique and distinguished. I think space is beautiful, with all it's stars, planets and emptiness, it's so big that there's so much we don't know about it. Somewhere far away, there could be planets filled to the brim with exotic life, stashed with endless mysteries and treasure, there could even be some completely made out of beautiful gems out there, undiscovered. Since there's thousands upon thousands of uncharted planets, I think there's bound to be intelligent life on some of them. Maybe some are deadly monsters, maybe some are them are friendly, in any case, I think they exist. It may be kind of scary, not knowing all that's out there, but for me it's exhilarating,"
