I continue to stare at the app for to long. Have I really became desperate? Scrolling through the app I think back on all of my past relationships,  they all ended the same, with a pint of ice cream and a weekend sob fest. Only recently have I even thought about dating, and I don't even know where to start. I made a profile on this dating app but so far I have had not one person interested. Honestly I wish this was simpler, that my dream partner would just walk through that door. I starred at my unmoving bedroom door for a moment. Yep not sure what I was trying to do there.
Packing my lunch and grabbing my bag I lock the door of my apartment behind me and walk tapers the elevator. While I am waiting for it to open I see my reflection in the metal doors. I decided I need to start waking up earlier. My long black hair was in strands that seemed to stick up in every direction. And even from here I could see the bags under my eyes, along with smudged mascara.
When the elevator finally does arrive I am trying to brush my hair with my fingers, which only makes it more tangled. I give up and pull it into a low ponytail and call it done.
-time skip-
Rushing out of my car I am struggling to hold all of my things. I walk up to the front door of my office building, swipe my key card and open the door. The sounds of people talking and walking and the smell of plastic overwhelm me. I look at my watch, crap, two minutes late I don't have time for this, I head to my desk on the second floor. When I get in the elevator a breath I did not know I was holding was let out, I felt better. My job is nice, I spend all day punching in numbers and making calculations for a big company. It can get a little boring but it is steady, I like steady.
I was about go on lunch break when I hear my phone ding. Expecting a text I check in who it was, but the notification was from the Red String app, I stare at my phone bewildered.
"A match...I..I got a match."
