I'd walk down a hallway waving to several people and ignoring others when the klaxons sounded on the dropship and it was time to drop straight into your first combat situation me and my team ran to the drop pod's unlike me and my squad expectations we weren't dropping into direct combat we were dropping with cargo in the FOB we'd been through this before and it wasn't new
Me: "okay team were dropping down into the FOB, of course, you know this but remember the plan we have to hustle the FUCK out of those med crates into the medical Tents our men are dieing down there and we can't let that happen"

after the drop it was jarring and just generally bad several people puked but like the drilled Pro's we were. We didn't act professionally at all and half of us were stumbling around and getting screamed at by the NCO for our incompetence , me unlike the rest was already running crate's to the medical shoot's where it got transferred from underground to the Medical outposts with several tents where the dead, DOA, or wounded came to be bagged tagged or stitched and fixed basic stuff right? Anyways after we did this it was time to sleep we had high tech bunks that were way more comfortable than our poor-mans home-couch or bed everyone liked this and some of us had already gotten used to the 60mm mortar's landing on top of the FOB we slept we enjoyed ourselves i stuck myself in a back bunk wanting too disassociate in nervousness soon after the NCO of the group told us lights out or be flogged well enough we all slept and got ready for our battle the next day
