CHAPTER #1

PRIIING!!!

PRIIING!!!

PRIIING!!!

I woke up at the sound of my alarm clock. The time is now 8:00 and I am freaking late on the first day of school! That's just great!

I hurried and grabbed my messenger bag and got dressed, just threw on a shirt that says "MAKE MY DAY" , a pair of light wash jeans, and my favorite converse. As I was running down the stairs, the contents of my bag fell. Ugh! I am such a klutz!

"Hey, what's the rush?" my father said with a mouth full of bread, he's really not much of an elegant eater.

"I'm late for school, dad" I said with an impatient tone.

"Don't worry, sweetie, just have Leto take you" Leto is our full time "chauffeur" I know I know, I don't sound like the type of girl who has a chauffeur, but unfortunately I am, I usually take the bus 'cause I don't want any of my classmates to know that I'm sort of rich. Now you're probably wondering "Why not show off my stuff and make people do my homework for me?"

Well, I'm not really that type of person, and I'm scared that when people found out that I'm rich, they'd use me, and expect me to dress like the hottest models and act like the queen of the world. It's just not my thing I guess.

As for my social life, I only have two friends, Hannah - an optimist, who is obsessed with the "popular" people, and so dreams to be exactly like them. We've been friends for almost 4 years now. My other friend is named Kyle - just an average guy, well, not so average, his dad, along with my father, is the co-founder of Gear Records, the number 1 music producing company in America, which means he is the only one that knows I'm rich. We've been friends since forever.

When our fathers relocated 5 years ago, Kyle and I decided to keep our financial status a secret. Our fathers were baffled on why we chose to go to public school when we can go to the finest school in L.A., but soon enough we were able to persuade them.

"Fine, but this will not become an everyday thing", my dad has been bugging me to take a car to school rather than riding the bus, he told me "Sweetie, why on earth would want to take the bus when you have the fastest and most expensive cars at your disposal?" Well I just shrugged.

I told Leto to stop a block before school so no one would see me getting out of our black Range Rover.

When I reached the heavy plastic door and pushed it open, the hallways were completely deserted, I've missed homeroom and the first 10 minutes of biology, just great, nothing is better than a humiliating entrance on the first day of school.

Just when I was about to knock Mr. Johnson - an overly enthusiastic science teacher who is probably in his late 30's - looked at me with a grin from ear to ear, "Ah, you must be Jade Skyelar. Well go on now, take a seat, you've already missed 10 minutes of fun."

As I was looking around for a seat, I saw Kyle look at me with an apologetic look, and mouthed 'sorry'. I just gave him an understanding smile. I usually seat beside Kyle, but Tiffany, the school slut, already took the seat, she's probably trying to hook up with him, she has never sat beside anyone where she has no intention of hooking up with. You see Kyle's not all that bad looking, he's actually kind of handsome, he has muscles just right for his body, he has straight black hair that never seems to be messy, and he stands at around 5'9.
