Chapter 4: Shut up, I Love It

I had been living in California for about a week now, and I have to admit, it is really interesting.Let's just say that people drive a heck of a lot faster than I was used to, and I seemed to have noticed a big increase in the amount of mental instatutions. Even now, I was just starting to get used to the time change, and the extremly hot weather. I figured that I needed to go shopping sooner or later, for it was the beginning of summer and it was only going to get warmer. But for now i would just have to go with the clothes I had with me, and it was a relief when i woke up this morning and discovered that it was colder than usual. I could feel it through the small window I had in my room which always served as my weather indacator, for you could feel the temperature through it's thin glass pane. I got out of my small, but cozy, bed and walked to the window. I placed my nimble fingers on the glass, it was warm. Not cold, not even cool, but warm. Something it had not been the entire time I had been here. I couldnt help but smile and there was no point trying to stop myself. Today would be a good day, and I could feel it. Maybe it was just the weather, and I was exaggerating the greatness that I felt in this day. Probably, but I did not care.

I skipped, yes skipped, to the white dresser that I gladly call mine. Yep, definatlly exagerating. I threw on a light, cream colored tank top, and a pair of dark denim shorts. I added a gold necklace and some chunky bracelets to my wrists. I looked into the mirror above the dresser. My face was round, and I had a large forehead. But I was often complimented on my high cheekbones, and I really did not know that having that feature was something I should be proud. My eyes were not the the typical gorgeous light blue or deep and mesmerizing green color. My eyes were a very deep, dark chocolate brown color. They were nothing special, but neither was the rest of me. I mean I was not ugly, and I am not one of those girls who are honestly really pretty but refuse to admit that. I simply had no bragging rights about my appearance. I was not a size 2, and I didnt have gorgeous, long, bonde hair. My hair was an average brown color and came to about the middle of my rib cage. I was no gorgeous, beautiful, supermodel. I have to admit, my life is entirely normal and ordinary. I did not live in a huge house, but it was not small either. I had two parents who were happily married 50-year-olds. I had two brothers and a normal pet doggie, Zazoo. I had named himafter the bird in the Lion King when I was younger. I was a normal highschooler who just happened to have a dream that she was way too stubborn to let go of. My personality, on the otherhand, was not totally normal and ordinary. I was weird, oh so weird. I start dancing randomly, I talk in akward accents that have nothing to do with the conversation, I am way too talkative, and the same go's for my energy. I honestly did not care though, it was who I was and being so weird made life fun.

I walked to the kitchen, and saw that Jack had a smile plastered across his face as well. "Hey."

"Oh Ken, have you seen the weather today, it is like, not hot," He said with much enthusiasm.

"Well I dont know about the not-hot part, but yeah, it is much cooler than usual."

"It feels great. We should do something today, I put Al in charge of the shop today so I am up for something." He said as he passed me a plate of eggs and bacon. Breakfast for champions, you know.

"Thanks, and this might sound crazy, but I have some money saved up for a car and maybe we could go car shopping?" I said hesitantly.

"Um, sure. you know it might be nice to be able to go out at the same time."

"YASSS! WOOH HOOH! Go Kenny, Go Kenny." I said, cheering myself on.

"Hey, ok calm down. Listen, it is really not that big of a deal so, just stop, doing that."

"Oh yeah. Ok, calm. Got it."

"How about that one?" Asked Jack as he pointed to a red Subaru.
"No way, it is too red."
"Um, this one?" he said but I did not know which car he was talking about because I was too busy looking at my new truck.
"No, that one." I said as I ran to the old, white, Chevy truck. Perfect.
"K, are you sure? I mean this car is"
"Shut up. I love it."
"Ok then." said Jack who was obviously annoyed by my taste in vehicles. But, like usual, I did not care. This car was mine.
