It was very simple to prepare, all I had to do was boil the noodles and add the other toppings and spices once the noodles were finished cooking. I got out all the ingredients and cooking utensils and then started to boil water in a cooking pot. While waiting for the water the boil, I wait on the couch and turn on the TV and started to flip through channels to find something interesting to watch. Lots of horror movies were playing tonight so I figured that I would watch one of them until my brother was finished bathing. There was The Thing, A Silent Place, Yell, Lizard Box and Fifty Shades of Scariness to choose from at the time. Lizard box seemed to have an interesting concept and lizards were cool animals so I decided to give that one a go. Since I started it around nine forty and the starting time was nine thirty I had missed the first ten minutes, but it was not a huge deal since the breif description of the movie filled it in a little for me.
After watching for a bit, I came to the conclusion that this movie was more depressing than scary. Luckily, I could hear the bathroom door open meaning that I did not have to watch this anymore. He was wearing copious amounts of towels around his body practically covering every part of his body except his face, it was a very strange sight. "Oh you're done, the first batch of muffins is probably done cooling by now and the other ones in the oven should be ready soon as well," I told him while staring curiously at all the towels. He eyed the TV curiously as he began to take the towels off his arms. "Ah, Abis could you please keep your towels on or go put on some clothes?" I ask politely as he scoffed at me in return. "You know, clothes are optional for our race, so don't act all weird about it. Also, it would be a crime to cover up my body with these looks," he gave me a reassuring smile as I put my hand over my face. At least he was in a much better mood now thanks to the bath.
"I know that, it's just common courtesy to not strip in other's homes. I mean, if you want to walk around without clothes that's fine by me, but you should have left the bathroom without anything on. Now there's wet towels all over the floor," I sulked as we walked over to the muffins to eat them. As I took a bite out of my eggs-traordinary muffin, I noticed that the water was now boiling so I added the noodles and some olive oil to the water. "What are you making now? A second course?" Abis asked as he finished his second muffin and reached for a third. "Oh this? I'm making lunch to take with me to Skool tomorrow. Sounds like the other muffins are done now." I put on mits again and set the trays of muffins to cool on the counter. I finished the rest of my muffin and waited patiently for the other muffins to finish cooling.
Abis was silent for a little while we waited, so I assumed that something was bothering him as his mood changed from a few minutes ago. Then after a bit, he spoke what was on his mind. "So school, that probably brings back memories doesn't it?" he stated bluntly as I stared at the muffins. "I guess it does, it's strange because it seems like I was just there the other day, though that was years ago I suppose. This school, even with its flaws seems a lot nicer though. I have a feeling I'll really enjoy going there during the day," I smiled weakly as I tried take my mind off the subject. It was then Abis attempted to grab one of the hot muffins, then let out a pained yell. "They aren't cool yet, can't you see the steam coming off them?" I could not help but laugh a bit, and strangely enough he did not seem too upset at me for doing so.
The rest of the night went fairly smoothly. We had finished eating all the muffins after they had cooled, with Abis eating the majority, then I cleaned up all the empty muffin trays. I put the finished tagliatelle in a large glass Tupperware and set it in the fridge before heading to my room. After closing my door, I curled up on my bed before going to sleep. It pleased me to see that Abis was not in my bed the next morning, I only hoped he did not have to use any alcohol in order to sleep for the night though. I went to check on him after doing my morning routine to see that he was lounging lazily on the couch watching some sort of crime show. He glanced over at me before yawning, "Finally, now make me breakfast." I sprinted over to the fridge to grab a bit of yogurt for myself to eat. "Sorry, Abis but I have to hurry and get to school. There's some yogurt in the fridge if you'd like to eat some of that," I told him as I quickly ate my strawberry yogurt. He let out a disappointed sigh as he leaned over the couch to see what I was doing.
