Spider-woman was a new concept, a new icon. She was being played by Raechel Raines, a 19-year-old girl, trying to get into college, trying to figure out who she was, who she is, who she will be. Her dream was to become an actress and a role model, but only one of those would be possible once she became Spider-Woman. Everyone seemed to love her, but did they? Rae's anxiety blocked her from doing most things she would normally enjoy. She feared that if she made one wrong move, everyone who once looked up to her would hate her. She kept on hiding in her apartment, only coming out when the crime had to be fought. She was extremely insecure but she knew that had to change if she was going to be a role model for so many people. She was only 19 years old, but she had so many responsibilities resting on her shoulders, holding her down.
"What if my identity is revealed?" She would ask. "What if I die while saving people? Should I even keep going?" It was all getting to her, encasing her into a shell of doubt and worry, restricting her and criticizing her every move. She lay awake in her dark and lonely apartment at night pondering her life and all of her choices. She would think about her lost loved ones and how she barely knew her parents. But almost every night, her contemplation would be interrupted by the, what seemed to be neverending, crimes. She'd experienced so many things just in her first year. She'd seen multiple robberies, quite a few muggings, and the occasional murder. This meant that she, not only had to fight but also examine and find evidence to lead to the source of the crime. None of it was easy, it never would be.
