Roman had always been a tad bit interested in mythical creatures his whole life, fascinated with the fantasy creatures. When Roman was two he made up his own imaginary friend that was a dragon witch. Roman had a little brother named Remus who was only a year younger, but he always wanted to play pretend with him and protect his brother. Roman always played the princely knight while Remus was just Roman's brother and the duke of their pretend castle.

As the two grew up together their parents left the story, leaving Roman to try to raise himself and his younger brother Remus all by himself. The two were poor so Roman had to grow up quickly, doing odd jobs as he tried to keep up with his studies. In their high school, there was an elective that could be taken for two years, Theater, where Roman found his true passion. After those two years were up Roman still signed up for the plays the school would host every year, one year getting Remus to join him. But in the second year of highschool Roman learned through his theater and history class what mythology was and his third year took a mythology class.

In college, Roman roomed with Remus, the two inseparable but not of their own accord. Roman and Remus were aiming to get their theater degree's but at the end of the second year Remus dropped out, but that didn't stop Roman. Roman never gave up his love for mythology and slight liking for science and took on extra classes to fill in any gaps in his schedule. After college the two again lived at home together, Remus was checking the mail as Roman was job surfing on the internet and searching in the paper for anything appealing when Remus set down an envelope.

"It has your name on it, Ro. It looks like a government letter." Remus said as Roman took the envelope, opening it up to read it.

"It's a college wanting me in their program, it says they will pay for my dorm, books, meals, and everything else," Roman said

"Hm, but you just got out of college. But at the same time, this is a huge opportunity. Are you going?"

"Of course I'm going, any money I make on the side will go to you so no worries." Roman said as he ruffled up Remus' hair "Ew.. greasy." Roman wiped his hand on his pants.

"Though, where is the college?" Remus asks, reading the paper that is still in Roman's hand.

"Oddly enough it's only a few miles away, so maybe you'll get to visit me?"

"You say that like I won't visit you, which you know I will," Remus said smirking a bit.

"I'm just saying I might be to busy for you," Roman says as he stands up and starts packing everything he unpacked a just yesterday.

After packing everything he needed in two bags he stuffed it into the back of their small car, Remus grabbing the letter Roman left on the table and reading it.

"Percy.. Magenta? What kind of name is that?" Remus asked himself, before heading outside to hand Roman the letter.

"You might need this, though.. you aren't going today, right?"

"I am but I can stay a bit longer if you're that lonely," Roman said, this time being the one with a sly smirk.

"Pffft- Me? Lonely? Never! I spent two years away from you and never felt better."

"I thought I wouldn't come back to a house, honestly."

"I mean same but I managed, at least the government hasn't noticed I committed tax fraud yet."

"Wait what?" Roman asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Ohhhh... you don't know this but last year I didn't pay our taxes."

"Oh geez.." Roman said, closing the back of the car. "Look, just- fill out your taxes."

"Fiiiine, I guess I'll be seeing you in four years?"

"I'll try visiting on the holidays, so don't worry that long. Oh- Also please don't burn down our house."

"Now you make me want to do it," Remus said, glancing back at the house before looking back at Roman who was getting into the car.

"I'll see you during thanksgiving, alright Remus?"

"Alright, I'll try not to burn the turkey this year!" Remus said, waving as Roman started to drive to his new college.

Once at the new college he stopped, looking at the gate. There was a small machine and a voice spoke through it.

"State your name and business." The voice stated.

"Roman Knight and I'm here to apply for college?"

"Oh, let me open the gate for you then." They said, the gate opening. Roman drove through, looking in awe at the school.

The campus was huge, the college itself was huge, the dorms next to the school looked like condos, they had their own medical bay area, a gigantic greenhouse, and a storage area. Or at least that's what Roman assumed it was.

Roman parked his car into the parking lot before walking into the college, looking around. It was a lot bigger than his last college, seemingly to be almost like a three-story maze. A male comes out of a room and noticed the dumbstruck Roman near the entrance just looking around.

"Ahah, are you a newbie?" The man asks, Roman just nodded. "Well, come into my office then. I'll help you fill out everything and find your way to your classes." He said, going back into his office and Roman followed, sitting down.

"So you're Roman knight?" The man asks and Roman nodded. "Alright, well tell me what classes you want to take." He said, sliding a sheet over to Roman. The sheet mainly had science classes, agriculture, psychology, philosophy, medical studying, and all similar things. Roman circles a few classes and hands the paper back to the man.

"Mythology? Not many pick that one. You picked all the basics, so you just seem to want a general degree?" He asks and Roman nods, the man putting that into the database. "Alright well your classes start in a week, your dorm number is 73." He said.

Roman stood to head to his car, gathering his belongings and going to search for room 73, which was on the second floor he figured out. He got his own room to himself and started unpacking, he himself wasn't much for science but he couldn't just let this chance go to waste. That and he was curious to see who Percy was and if he was a teacher here or something.

The next day the man from yesterday showed Roman where everything was, all the classrooms, the cafeteria, the library, and all that. Roman asked about Percy and was met with just a shrug, them just moving on.

Roman over three years never visited his brother, almost forgetting about him. After his third year, Roman was transferred to his job location, being flown to a remote island. He was shown his office, his room, and generally where everything was but Roman couldn't help but have chills run down his spine as he was in the facility but he didn't know why. He at one point during the tour thought he heard sobbing from one of the rooms but ignored it, thinking one of his colleagues was just having a hard time but oh how wrong he was. Roman during his first day just getting the tour wondered by everyone had guns and was told they weren't meant to kill, just stun anyone which he wondered why anyone would need to be stunned. Maybe people have mental breakdowns here because of too much work and pressure.

Roman would soon find out there was no escape off this island and would soon found out why.
