Their bodies swayed like silk in the moonlight, they held each other close while dancing the presence of others nothing but a thought. The music came to a smooth and slow stop, they followed in suite, the audience cheered and clapped the women gazed longingly at the two only dreaming of passion matching that of what they see.
He untangled his fingers from her small and soft hand, oh how long he had been awaiting for this very moment, he gets down on one knee and pulls out a beautiful black Jeweled ring, she gasps in shock her hand covering her mouth, a small tear making its way down her blushed cheeks, her brows knit together bringing wrinkles as well as a scared expression. His expression drops a little but he continues
"Will you marry me?"
Everything goes silent as everyone waits for her response, she looks away from him her eyes darting around looking and scanning the faces of the shocked crowd, she looks back at him, biting her lip, she lets her hand drop from her mouth and cup his face, his face showing more and more concern
"I'm sorry mi amor, but i.."
She pauses for a second stumbling over her words, saying this will break his heart but she has too, for him.
"I'm sorry but i just can't, you won't be able to ever understand why, buts that's okay."
Her now softened expression gives him a bit comfort but as of now it feels as if the whole world just broke, she had been so happy with him. Why this? Why now? After years of knowing her she said no. His mind races to find the possible answer to this, was it his fault? Was it something he did?
