Welcome to the story of Oliver. He's lived in Birmingham all his life and when he was born his mother died. He lived a normal childhood until one day when he got home. He found a man at his doorstep.
"I'm sorry Oliver your dad died today at his work" he explained.
"How did he die?" Oliver asked. "He fell into a pot of molten steel and no one could get him out in time, I'm sorry for your loss." Exclaimed the man. Oliver fell into silence he could not comprehend the fact that his father had died and now he had no one left. "Where does this leave me?" Oliver asked. "You are being sent to the orphanage in the south of the city. If you come with me I will take you there". Then the man started walking towards a carriage and Oliver followed him. The man got in the front and Oliver got into the back of the carriage. The ride was silent; Oliver was just lost in a feeling of sadness and confusion about why God would do this to them. His father never did anything wrong he worked to support us two. I never heard much about what my mother was like he always seemed to change the subject when it came to me asking about her.
When we arrived at the orphanage it was about 5pm and the journey had taken about an hour. The orphanage looked somewhat medieval with stone walls and an iron gate leading into the courtyard. The walls had spikes on the top to stop people from climbing over. When we were walking to the front door I looked up and saw some strange and evil looking figure staring down the bell tower. Then it turned away. Once we reached the door the man opened it and went to the front desk. "Hello this is Oliver his father died earlier today and has been sent here by the local council." The man explained.
"Okay take him to the first room on the left" the receptionist said.
Then the man took him to the door and knocked on it. It slowly opened showing the man who he saw in the bell tower. "Hello this is Oliver he's be sent here after the loss of his father" He explained.
"You may leave the premise I will take care of him" Said the strange man. "Hello, Oliver welcome to the orphanage, I am Mr Kane. I own this orphanage. Now go upstairs and go to the last door at the end of the corridor and do not go down into the basement." Mr Kane said sternly. So Oliver did so he left the room and walked towards the stairs noticing. He started heading up the stairs and reached the second floor. He slowly crept down the corridor and reached a crimson door and opened it. Inside was a single bed and a cupboard with some clothes inside. He went to the bed and layed down and drifted off to sleep...
