Old times

Chapter 1

'Someone's coming!' yelled the guard. Some of the people ran to the gate of their fortress. A boy, not older than sixteen rode on a black horse towards the gate. 'Wait, don't shoot! He's wounded!' The boy leaned to the side of his horse and puked, then, he fell off of his horse and he started to shake violently. 'Where's Una?!' screamed Rufus. Una, the doctor walked up to the boy. 'He'll be fine.' She pushed the boy so he layed on his back, then she poured water in his mouth. 'He's dehydrated and starving. Give him a place to rest and take that horse to the stables.' The boy groaned. 'Don't touch Adorea.' Una smiled. 'Listen to the boy.' She said. Two men carried the boy to one of the houses and laid him on a bed. The horse, Adorea, waited for her friend to come out. Una got back into the house. 'Here's some water, but drink carefully.' He opened his eyes and she gasped. 'You're blind...' The boy nods. 'My name is Rian.' Rian closed his eyes and took a deep breath. 'I'm tired!' he suddenly said. 'Tomorrow we'll wash you and see what else we can do.' said Una and she left the boy alone to rest. 'Wait, I can't be here. I'm putting your people in danger!' he yelled. 'Will, he's a nice boy, he'll guard you. Now sleep.' Una didn't bother to listen to Rian's screams. 'Will, go take care of the boy. Get a bucket and towel to clean him. And feed him.' said Una. 'Yes ma'am.' he said and he got the stuff he needed. 'Hello, Rian. I'm Will.' Rian's eyes opened and looked at Will's direction. Will noticed that Rian wasn't really looking at him, but it seemed like he looked through him. 'Are you okay?' Will asked. Rian laughed. 'No, not really.' Will laughed and made the towel wet. 'What are you doing?' asked Rian. 'I'm gonna wash you.' Rian sat up. 'I'm not dirty!' he said. 'You are dirty! Have you seen- I mean smelled yourself!' They both laughed. 'Fine. Wash me then.' Rian took his shirt off. Will stared at the muscles and scars and blushed. 'How did you get those scars?' he asked. Rian's fingers followed one of the scars all the way down to his waist. 'I don't know.' he just simply said. Will quickly washed Rian's chest and back. 'Are you hungry?' Will asked. Rian nods. 'I brought you soup.' Rian wanted to grab the bowl, but he almost spilled the soup. 'Let me help you.' said Will. He smiled at Rian and grabbed the spoon. Rian ate the soup and yawned. 'I'm gonna sleep.' he said. Will smiled. 'I'll see you tomorrow.' Will grabbed his stuff.

'Will?'

'Yes?'

'Thank you.'

'No problem, goodnight.'

Will left and Rian fell asleep. The next morning Una woke Rian early in the afternoon. 'I have something for you.' Rian opened his eyes. 'But first a question. Why do you open your eyes? You know you're blind.' Rian tipped his head to the side. 'I hope that one day I'll open my eyes, and see the sun.' he said. Una smiled. 'I have a blindfold so you won't get a headache' She bonded it around his head, over his eyes. 'Follow me, boy.' she said. Rian grabbed Una's shoulder and followed her into the village. 'We brought Adorea to the stables.'

'Where's that boy?' he asked. 'Will is out hunting with the other men.' explained Una. 'Is there something I can do?' Una laughed. 'You're too weak to do anything for now.' Rian frowned. 'I'm not weak.' he said. 'Riley will help you around. I gotta go now.' said Una. 'Hello boy.' said a deeper voice. 'Good afternoon.' said Rian. Riley grabbed Rian's arm. 'Let me take you to the kitchen for some food. You seem hungry!' He leads Rian to the kitchen and starts to bake an egg. 'Would you like an egg?' he asked. 'Yes, thank you' answered Rian. Together they eat the egg and wash the dishes. Riley also gave Rian some water. They heard the gate open, so Riley and Rian walked out. 'What's happening.' asked Rian.

'The hunters are back. I hope they found some animals. Also, Will is back now.' Rian heard people get off of their horses. Will walked up to them and smiled. 'Hey Rian, what's that on your face?' asked Will. 'It's something for my eyes.' answered Rian. 'How did the hunt go?' asked Riley. Will sighs. 'We only found some bunny's and a wolf.' he said. Will grabbed the reins of his horse and started to walk to the stables. Riley brought Rian to his house and they drank some tea. 'Would you like a cookie?' Rian smiled. 'Yes, thank you, Riley.' Riley grabbed a cookie from the jar and gave it to his friend. 'Can I ask you a question?' said Riley. 'You just did that.' answered Rian. 'I- Well... Can I ask you two questions?' Rian laughed. 'Sure! What's the matter?' 'How did you become blind?' asked Riley. 'Well, I don't remember how I got blind.' They heard someone knock on the door. 'Wait here Rian, I'll open the door.' said Riley. Rian heard some talking and Riley came back. 'Who was that at the door?' asked Rian. 'Hey. How are you, Rian?' asked Will. 'I'm good, Riley is nice to talk to.' answered Rian. 'Riley, would you mind if Rian and I go to the stables together so he can ride his horse?' asked Will. 'No problem. I see you later boys!' he said and he walked upstairs. Will and Rian quickly got to the stables. 'Adorea, come here girl!' They heard Adorea somewhere in the back. Rian began to run towards the noise. He opened her stable door and hugged her.
