"Alina! I found it!" Alwin was in his study. Books piled everywhere. He had been searching for a specific book for what seemed like days. Alina walks in, the big wooden door slamming behind her, she set down a tray of coffee on a set of books.
"No! No! You can't put those there" Alwin says as he takes a sip of the piping hot coffee.
"Well, where do you want me to put it? This place is covered in books! A seventeen-year-old shouldn't stress this much." Alina said with a worried tone.
"Well, this is the price to achieve what we want. Honey, what did you put in this coffee?"
"Tea? And since when did you call me honey?"
"Well, you start to act differently when you have been up for four days straight."
"Four days! You need to sleep!"
"No, I need answers," Alwin said setting the coffee back down, he started to fidget with his ring.
"So you found it?" Alina asked kind of concerned.
"Yes! Maybe. I don't know." Alwin started flipping through the pages and finally stopped.
"To those who seek my power, inscribe these runes and you will receive that of which you wish." Alwin quoted directly from the book.
He then flipped the page revealing six runes. Fire, water, earth, wind, darkness, and light. They ran outside to Alwin's courtyard and started inscribing the runes. One by one they slowly made their way to their goal. They decided not to write the last rune until noon the next day. They made their way inside to get rest and to celebrate.
Alex woke up to see Alina still asleep. He brushed her blonde hair behind her ear and got out of there big bed. He walked to the kitchen to see the cooks making breakfast.
"I've got this." He said sounding confident.
All the cooks scurried out of the kitchen as Alwin started to make breakfast. He made some oats, bacon, toast, and some pancakes and waffles. He brought a tray of food to Alina to find her still sound asleep. He went back to the kitchen and made him some scrambled eggs and coffee. He then walked to his dining room. Nobody was at the big dining table. He sat down at the end of it in his big comfy chair. He sipped his coffee and took a bite of eggs. He rang a bell that was sitting next to him and a maid scurried into the room.
"Yes, m'lord?"
"Can you please bring me my papers. They should be on my desk in my study. Here are the keys." He tossed her keys and she almost dropped them.
Twenty minutes later the maid walked in with a cart filled with papers. She parked the cart next to him and took his empty plate. She walked to the kitchen and walked back with a coffee pot and honey.
"Thank you, Elda. You can have the day off. Go visit your kids. When is your son's birthday again?"
"Today sir."
"And you came in for work? Here go buy him something." Alwin handed her a hand full of gold coins.
"But sir! This is too much!"
"It is fine. Go have fun."
Alwin then started signing papers and going over the work that he had done. Suddenly a hand touched his shoulder. He looks up to see Alina reading papers over his shoulder.
"Hey, how did you like breakfast?"
"It was good, thank you for making it."
"How did you know it was me and not the cooks."
