Chapter 2: She's cute

I slowly ate my cereal as I watched some TV. I had to get up early today so I could watch the newest episode of my favorite anime before school. I was so focused on the TV that I didn't even notice I was spilling milk and cheerios all over the floor. Once the credits rolled a big smile spread over my face. Lucy was saved from the clock! (Whoever gets this reference gets a follow) I stood up and stepped in something wet. I looked down to see half of my bowl of cereal on the floor. I sighed and got the broom to clean it up. Once it was cleaned I put my uniform on and picked my back pack up. My mind was jumbled with thoughts on the latest episode. I was zoned out, snapping back to reality when I bumped into someone and we both fell down. I groaned and opened my eyes to see a small, pink haired girl staring back at me, half blushing half angry.

???: Get off of me you pervert!!

I looked down and saw my hands were on her chest. I blushed and quickly stood up and gathered my things.

Me: I'm so sorry! I didn't watch where I was going! Here, let me help you up.

I reached my hand out but she swiped it away and ran inside the school. I sighed and began to walk past the group of students. I walked to my class and slumped down in my seat. I didn't mean to touch her like that. I wish there was some way I could make it up to her. 

-TIME SKIP-

Once the day was over me and Monika headed over to the Literature Club. We walked in and I froze in place when I saw the pink haired girl rummaging through the closet.

Monika: Natuski! Our new member is here!

Natuski turned around and a big blush formed on her face. I looked down.

Natsuki: You?! You're the new member?!

Monika: Is that a problem?

Natuski: Yes! He's a pervert!

Me: I didn't mean too! Honestly! I was zoned out and I wasn't watching where I was going! I promise I didn't mean to!

Monika: Alright, everyone just calm down. Let's settle things while we eat.

Eat? Did someone bring snacks? I could go for some food right now. I looked to my left and saw that they put 5 desks together to make a little table. We all sat down and Natsuki came to the table with a tray wrapped with aluminum foil. She took the foil off to show a dozen white cupcakes with frosting and sprinkles in the shape of a cat face. Did she make those herself? She must be really good at baking. She handed everybody a cupcake and I picked mine up. Sayori took a bite of hers and her eyes lit up.

Sayori: Woah! These are amazing Natsuki!

Natsuki put on a confident smile.

Natuski: Of course they are! I made them!

That confirms my question. She did make these. Natsuki huffed and looked at me.

Natuski: Are you going to eat it or not?!

Me: Sorry.

I slowly took a bite of the cupcake. The frosting was sweet and had a lot of flavor.

Me: Oh my god. Natsuki this is delicious!

Natsuki blushed and smiled as I quickly finished my cupcake. I looked at her and for a split second our eyes met. We both blushed and turned away from each other. Everyone grabbed another and we all chowed down. In the middle of eating Monika spoke.

Monika: So f/n, this being a Literature Club I feel I need to ask you what kind of books you read.

I put my cupcake down and looked at her, but noticed the other 3 girls staring at me waiting for an answer.

Me: Well, I'm a really big fan of horror novels.

I saw Yuri perk her head up and blush, but I chose to ignore it.

Me: I'm also a huge fan of manga. If that's even counted as literature.

Natsuki: It is!

Her sudden outburst made everyone look at her, making her blush as she sat back down. Man she's cute when she blushes. I heard Sayori chuckle.

Sayori: Natsuki is a big fan of manga. She has a whole collection of it in the storage closet.

Natsuki's face shined a bright crimson color.

Natsuki: D-Don't say it out loud!

Me: Do you have Parfait Girls?

Natsuki looked at you, still blushing.

Natsuki: W-What?

Me: I've heard of a manga series called Parfait Girls on the internet. I was wondering if you had that series.

Natuski: I do actually! Follow me!

She scooted out of her chair and I looked at the other girls. They simply nodded and I scooted my chair back and walked to the closet. I saw Natsuki grab a container full of books. She took one out and handed it to me. I read the cover. Parfait Girls: Volume 1. My eyes lit up with excitement.

Natsuki: If you bend or smudge the pages, I'll beat the crap out of you.

Natsuki said this through a big smile. I gulped.

Me: I'm just gonna go read this.

I turned around and could've sworn I saw a smile creep its way onto her face. I sat on the floor and laid my back against the wall. I opened the book and started reading. Halfway through the first chapter I felt someone bump into my shoulder. I turned and saw Natsuki sitting beside me, reading with me. She quickly blushed and scooted away.

Natuski: I-I just wanted to see what page you were on!

I chuckled and looked at her. Everything about her was so cute. 

Me:It's alright if you were reading with me. I don't mind.

Natsuki looked at me curiously.

Natsuki: Really?

Me: Yeah. 

Natuski hesitantly scooted closer. So close that our shoulders were touching. I tried to hide my blush and kept reading. We both read in silence for about an hour. We both jumped when Monika spoke up.

Monika: Alright everyone! Before we go I have an assignment for all of you!

Natsuki stood up and I made a mental note of what page I was on and closed the book. I handed it over to Natsuki.

Natsuki: Why are you giving this to me?

Me: Don't you want to put it back in the closet?

Natsuki: O-Oh. Yeah. 

She took the book and put it back in it's container. She shut the closet and we all listened to Monika.

Monika: I want everyone to write a poem, and tomorrow we can bring them in and share them with each other!

Natsuki: Uh, excuse me? That sounds like a terrible idea!

Me: I think it's actually a good idea. It's a great way to experience different types of writing to express ourselves.

Natsuki: Well when you put it that way, it sounds like a good idea.

She hid her face in embarrassement, causing me to chuckle. Sayori jumped into the air.

Sayori: Let's do it!

Yuri simply nodded and Monika smiled.

Monika: Alright then. I look forward to seeing everyone's poems tomorrow.

We all packed our things and walked out. Before I got to the school doors Natsuki walked up to me. What she asked left me shocked.

Natsuki: Can you walk me home?
