It's the first day of summer. Night to be precise and I'm already bored. Junior year ended with high hopes but enough time's passed for me to come to the realization of what this Summer's gonna be like- hot, long and boring.
Like every other summer before that.
What's different though is that I'm doing a part time job. Now most people choose waitressing for a summer job but that is too much social interaction.
I prefer being in quiet surroundings which is why working in a library is perfect.
I always wanted to do it anyway.
Just the idea of being around books and stocking them in a neat pile makes me smile.
And any excuse for not being home is good. Not that I don't like being home, my room is my world. But enough reading and movies have taught me that the world outside is beautiful too apparently. Might as well take a look while I'm here.
It's 12 am and I'm supposed to be asleep but I'm scrolling through social media.
Text posts are getting more and more relatable by the day so much so that it's scary, but we ignore scary shit.
I send my friend Nina one
I get a "Same" back
My eyes hurt from all the screen time so I shut them for a few seconds and then stare at the purple wall in my room.
My mom insisted I paint them all white, will put you in the calm she said
I don't think she understands calm be different for different people.
But since she's the mom and I get kicked out the house otherwise I agreed and painted my room white, except this one purple wall
I stare at it until I'm calm and fall asleep.
