It was quite like a twist of fate. You were just wandering around the woods thinking that it was just a normal lookout in the area - as per instructed by your superior. You were resting on top of the tree as you looked down at the small hut. The boy just left for the city to get some earnings back. The mother and his brothers and sisters were horsing around and started to do their daily chores. It was always a wonder to you as to why you were assigned to take care of this family where obviously, they were just a simple under-earned family whose typical work dealt with fires. You were clear at your orders was to look out at the area for any possible demon attacks, but yet you somewhat felt that you should take extra care with the family.

"Nezuko! Can you help me hang the clothes?" you heard the kind and gentle looking mother called out to her daughter.

The said daughter dutifully answered, "Sure thing!"

The scene that played before you was heart-warming. It just relax you - probably because you didn't receive that much of an attention. Not that you have a tragic past or anything but your family just felt distant. They had their own things to handle, they provided you clothes to wear, food to eat and roof to live under. You appreciate it. However, that was as far as the relationship went. Although, there was one thing that they exert extreme caution in - that is to remember that, "Demons may be once human. But once they eat human - they are no longer human. Make demons demon so that you can kill them,"

Weird as it may be but it explained as to why your family was involved in both the Demon Slayers Corp as well as the Kakushis - for the sake of the extraction of information. You were quite close with the Kochou Family with their pharmaceutical knowledge. While enjoying your own reminiscence, little did you realised that it was already nightfall.

In the exact moment where the Sun swallowed by the night, your whole body jolted frozen. You weren't able to move but the feeling itself was something you had never felt before. It may be winter but the chill that was running down the spine made cold sweat. Your whole system was crying out that if you were to move a single inch - youwill be killed. Not long after, a smooth yet cold voice could be heard behind you, "What a sharp girl. This is interesting,"

The first thing that came to my mind was that I had to run away. Before you could even do anything else, you felt a sharp pierce through your neck. The next thing happened was that you coughed out a huge lump of blood before your body turned numb.

"There's nothing wrong with more tests," the person said. His voice sounded bored yet there was this hint of hopefulness in it.

Just as he finished his sentence, you felt an excruciating pain circulating throughout your body. There wasn't a single part of you that didn't felt that pain. You lost your footing and fell to the ground. The coldness of the piled snow did little effect in aiding the pain. Your body continued twitching - struggling to adjust the foreign substance that was now circulating throughout you. The last thing that you heard before you lost your own consciousness was the screams of the family that you just watched over earlier today.

"Please! Spare her! Please don't kill my sister"

That desperate voice somewhat resonated inside of you. Your body was still throbbing in pain and your throat was parched. In fact, now that you were aware of your senses, your body became hotter every moment. You had this erratic anger which made you feel so annoyed at everything. But your hunger and thirst was the one that was painfully crying out attention to you. You forced open your eyes and to see that you were nearly covered up in snow. You immediately stood up and only to stagger. You couldn't remember anything much. When your eyes finally adjusted to the light. You were shocked at the sight that was unfolded before you. The more adjusted you were to your surrounding, the temptation to get closer to it grew larger. It was such a grotesque sight yet the smell was tantalising you. Each step closer you took just made your stomach growl in hunger. Before you could go on any further, you heard a familiar voice shouting.

"IF YOU WANT SOMETHING, YOU MUST FIGHT FOR IT!" you froze. You weren't able to recognise it at first, but you remembered who it was.

"To-mio-ka-san...?" you stuttered. It took every ounce of your strength to utter those words. You didn't know what to do. You just tried to head towards where the voice was coming from. But you needed food... And it was just right before you.

Food...? Before me...? They're humans...

Wait... Why did I see them as food?

You looked at your own hands and saw sharp nails that resembled close to a claw. That itself, was enough for you to get the gist.

I am now a Demon.
