Noel was getting impatient. It had been about 2 hours since his wife was taken to the labor. Hasn't she born yet? Why is it taking so long? Finally he slumped in to a nearby chair. God! Please let them be alright... my girls...

This was their first child. After four years of their marriage, and two miscarriages, they were lucky enough to be parents for this small girl, who was being born at that very moment. He couldn't wait to take her in to his arms, to kiss her, to hug her, to cherish her for her entire life.

Suddenly the door burst open. Not the labor room's door, but the one opposite, and there stood his best friend Shane... and his gang.

Shane was his lifelong friend as well as the local thug of their small village. Even though he pretended to be rough and mighty for the sake of his 'pride', he was a great guy by heart. But today, Noel knew that he had an ulterior motive.

"Hey man" Shane greeted him. "Is she still in there? Don't worry bud, both of them will be alright." He knew that Noel was scared. "Just be patient man. I'm sure, in a moment a nurse is going to come out and give you a beautiful and healthy little girl, who will exactly be like her dada"

A small smile escaped through Noel's lips. That's nice of him to say such a thing. "I know Shane, I know..." he whispered. "But they went in hours ago!"

Shane let out a sigh. "It's not a business deal to end within a particular time period Noel. It takes time. Don't worry kay? They will be fine" Shane had become the child-birth advisor for depressed daddies since his nephew was born a couple of months ago.

"I know man I KNOW" Noel snapped. "I'm just..."

He didn't have to finish that sentence, Shane understood him completely. He put his arm around his friend's shoulders and hugged him tightly. Words weren't needed there for these best friends. They knew each other by hearts.

This peaceful moment of bromance was disturbed by a nurse who suddenly came through the door. This time, it was through the labor room door.

"Mr. Noel?"

Noel sprung to his feet. "That's me"

The nurse treated him with a warm smile. "Mr. Noel, would you like to see your daughter?"

The smile shone in Noel's face could have easily powered thousands of power plants. That moment was one of the greatest moments of his life, no it WAS the greatest moment of his life. The moment he took the rosy little girl in to his shaking arms, the moment he felt her warmth through the well wrapped blanket, the moment he smelled her sweet fragrance, the moment he saw her daughter for the first time, it was the moment he felt the magic of life.

"Wooooow" Shane said. "She DOES look like you" He declared. "She really matches for my nephew, don't you think?"

Well, that was the second reason Shane was there. Since the day he knew they were having a baby he was over the moon, saying that those babies are going to be great friends. Since the day he knew it was a girl he was over the sun, proposing she should marry his nephew. That's why he was there in the hospital, not only for his best friend, but for his nephew's future bride!

"Well Shane, I don't think it is really up to us to decide. Let's wait and see. Okay?" Noel, the happiest man in the world right now said to his friend. But he also imagined, how wonderful would it be, if his best friend becomes his family?

But let's wait and see, as Noel said, it is up to the children to decide.
