luke

Moving into a new city after living in the same one for your whole life didnt really feel right to luke.

his father walked out of the house with what was the last box that had the word kitchen written in big black letters. he shut the door behind him and walked towards the vehicle.

"lucas, are you ready?" his mother asked quietly.

"please don't call me lucas." he rolled his eyes, looking out the window again.

today really was not a good day for him.

the drive was 2 hours to the new house and it felt agonizing.

"we are here," his mother says, tapping his knee to bring his attention back to reality.

luke nodded and took his headphones wrapping them around his phone and putting the book on the seat.

getting out of the car looking at a big house made up of dark red bricks and green vines that clung on to what seemed like every inch of the building. the pathway up the house was lined with beautiful flowers, which luke knew would never live to see next month due to his mothers horrible gardening skills.

luke slowly walked up the few steps that lead to the front door. opening the door walking in, not bothering to take his shoes off he walked through the kitchen which was old and reeked of dust. wandering over to the living room he looked out the big windows looking out on the sad and rainy weather.

Luke's thoughts were interrupted by a small voice.
