“Lumos Maximum!” Rose pointed at the plant that was holding her quill and said the spell they were learning.

“Well done, Mrs. Weasley!” Professor Gondon, the Charms teacher, clapped hhis hands together. He handed her the sheet of paper they were to work on after they finished perfecting the spell. Rose answered the questions easily, except for the last one. Does ‘Lumos Maximum’ work on things other than plants? She looked over at Albus, who mouthed 'no'.

“Lumos maximum.” Rose whispered and Albus shut his eyes quickly.

“What’s that light?” He demanded. When a plant shriveled away from Rose's wand, she quickly changed her no into a yes. When they were about to leave, Professor Gondon shouted out,

“Five points to Gryffindor!”

“So not fair!” shouted the Slytherins.

“It is fair. Mrs. Weasley here was the only one to get this question right.” Professor Gondon said. The Slytherins all glared at Rose and the other Gryffindor students congratulated her.

Once they got out, Rose ran to Scorpius, who was giving her a deathly glare.

“Hey, Malfoy, what’s the spell to give someone a brain because I think someone needs to use it on you!” Rose smirked.

“Why you…!” Scorpius ran at her, but the Slytherins grabbed him.

“She’s not worth it, Malfoy.” They said.

“Some Slytherin Prince, you can’t even get back the points you lost.” Rose taunted. This time the Slytherins didn’t stop him, but he didn’t run at her. Instead, he turned around and looked right past Rose. Standing there was Albus, his wand ready to fire a spell at Scorpius. Scorpius pulled out his wand and pointed it at Albus. They both looked pretty stupid because Rose knew that she was the only one who actually studied spells at home.

“Stupefy!” Scorpius shouted.

“Albus, watch out!” Rose shrieked, but the spell hit him. The Slytherins laughed and she pointed my wand at Scorpius.

“Petrificus Totalus!” Rose shouted. The Slytherins gasped and crowded around Scorpius, who she had put in a full body bind. None of them knew how to get him out.

“Enervate.” Rose whispered, pointing her wand at Albus, and he sat up.

“I’m going to get that Malfoy.” He mumbled, rubbing his head.

“I already got him.” Rose said proudly, and showed him Scorpius.

“Undo him, now!” shouted a Slytherin, pointing his wand at Rose.

“Fine, fine. Enervate.” Scorpius sat up, groaning. He ran away as soon as he was on his feet.

“Enervate? What year are we gonna be learning that?” Albus asked as they walked into the dining hall.

“Enervate is a third year spell, I think. But Petrificus Totalus, the spell I used on Malfoy, is a spell we should be learning later in the year.” Rose explained.

“You so have to teach me all these spells.” Albus said.

“Sure, but you first need to learn defense. If he’s about to shoot a spell at you, it doesn’t help if you shoot a spell at him, you’ll both be unconscious, or whatever you guys do to each other. If you block his spell and then hit him, that’s when you score.” Rose told him. He nodded and sat down at the table for dinner.

There was a knock on the door to the boys’ bedroom and Albus was the only one awake. He whispered,

“Lumos” and opened the door. Rose was standing there.
