Marilyn's POV

Tap. Tap. Tap. 'Ugh would someone stop that noise?' I slowly rose out of my sleep, rubbing my eyes in the process. I looked over at my clock and it read, unbelievably, 2:00 am. 'What the hell?' I grumbled to myself and walked over to my window. I opened it up and peaked outside only to find none other than Noah, in all his glory.

"Noah, what are you doing? It's 2 am." I whisper-yelled down to him

"My parents are at it again. Plus I miss my best cuddle buddy. You got the rope?" He said with a shrug of his shoulders

Noah's parents seemed like the picture perfect couple, only they weren't. His mom was an interior designer and one of the most admirable women I'd ever met. His dad, on the other hand, was some big CEO type thing and hardly ever had a smile on his face. They'd fight constantly over anything and everything. Noah had told his mom just to get a divorce already but she said, and I quote, 'that's the easy way out'. I dunno, her words not mine.

"Yeah, hold on," I went into my closet and grabbed the rope we use whenever he sneaks over here, then I walked back over to the window and threw the rope down.

"Here ya go, now hurry up its cold and I'm only in a sweater." I shivered. He looked up at me mid-climb, "Only a sweater?" he smirked at me. "Shut up, you perv." I went back and sat on my bed, the duvet on my lap.

Noah had made it into my room with a thump. "Quiet dipstick, Eli is sleeping." I whispered to him as he reeled in the rope and shut my window.

"Sorry, love." He took off his shirt and I couldn't help but stare.

I knew he had a great body, heck I've seen it before. Er..not in that way though. Gross, he's my best friend.

"My eyes are on my face, doll." He said with a chuckle. He casually strolled over to my bed and plopped down, struggling to find a comfy position.

I stared at him with a slight smirk on my face, "you good?" He nodded and opened up his arms waiting for me to crawl in next to him.

Now I know what you're thinking, it's weird for friends to cuddle. And quite frankly, no it is not. When we met as kids, we slowly realized that we had to cuddle. Noah, here's a plot twist, is afraid of thunderstorms. He gets so scared by them the only way he can ever fall asleep during a storm is to cuddle. Me on the other hand, I have really traumatic nightmares. Long story.

"How bad was it this time?" Noah asked while nuzzling his face into my hair. My head rested on his very, VERY firm chest. I casually dragged my finger back and forth on his chest.

"It was getting to the worst part, then you woke me up." I admitted.

"I'm sorry," he sighed "I wish they would just go away."

"You remember what the doctor said, it'll take awhile before I can get over what I went through." I yawned, moving closer to him.

"I know, it - it's just I want you to be happy again. I miss my best friend." He mumbled.

I leaned up onto my elbow and looked down at him, "I'm still here. Always will be." I promised him.

"Even if I told you that we have to go to a banquet for our parents, again?" he cringed, ready for me to smack him.

"Yes," I said giggling," Even then, I'll be here."

"What if I told you the banquet is tomorrow night?"

"Noah Morgan Tyler, you waited until the night before to tell me this?" I asked annoyed.

"Uh, yes?" He looked about ready to cry.
