My whole body hurt. I couldn't feel my hands because the ropes were cutting into my skin, removing any kind of circulation. My eyes were covered, I couldn't figure out how long I had been tied to the chair for but it felt like days. Days off being given food and drink through a straw, being unable to see, and unable to talk.

I was giving up on ever being rescued.

Footsteps were coming towards me and stopped just in front of me. My blindfold was yanked off and I had to close my eyes from the pain that the dim lightbulb above my head. Once my eyes adjusted I could see a masked figure standing in front of me.

"Hel...p m...e..." I whispered, barely able to form words.

The figure, a young man, bent down in front of me. I could hear the rapidness of his breath and could tell his entire body was tense. He reached out to touch me but pulled away last minute. The only features I could see where his eyes which were light green, soft, sad; and his mouth. Where, on his teeth, was a gold plate that made me shudder.

He put his finger to his lips, signalling me to keep quiet. I closed my mouth and watched in silent horror as he started to lift the ski mask off. He shook his hair and looked up at me, I could feel my heart skip a beat. A wave of electricity shot down my body and I leaned forward in my chair without realising.

A man – No, A boy – stared back at me. Fear and regret covering his face. The bags under his eyes revealed the fact that he hadn't been sleeping and I knew why.

A part of me wanted to comfort him. But another part of me, a much bigger part, almost didn't want to look at him out of fear and shock.

He stood up and backed away, shaking his head at me as if to tell me that he was sorry. He then turned away and put his ski mask back on as he left the room. I felt as though I couldn't breathe.

He was my kidnapper.
