It was a day like any other for our four companions. Little did they know, however, that this day would forever change their lives. One of our protagonists was sitting by his bedroom window, bored, having just gotten grounded for somehow managing to explode the TV when his favorite show had ended on a cliff hanger.
"Sterling, dear, come down. We-er have something to talk about. There-there's a guest here for you," his mother called. He was a tad confused, seeing as his mother almost never stuttered. Who could this visitor be? He came down the stairs quickly, driven by curiosity. The visitor was a lady standing in the door who he couldn't recognize.
"There he is, " she said referring to him, " You are Mr. Sterling Kemp, correct?" He nodded silently, trying to figure out who this woman was and if he was in trouble.
" Hello, young man"- here she offered him her hand, which he gingerly shook- "I am Professor Minerva McGonagall. You have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. " She handed me a letter with a crest on it. I opened it and was surprised to see it looked handwritten and, even more absurdly, by a quill.
"'Witchcraft and Wizardry'?" he asked, confused, "But I can't do magic!" She simply smiled at him as though she'd heard this time and time again.
"Tell me, has anything... odd happened to you? Something you couldn't explain? Maybe when you were mad or upset?" He thought of all the weird things that he had no idea how happened but got into trouble for anyway. Recently, when he had exploded the TV. When he was 7 at his cousin's house and he exploded the water guns they were playing with out of anger. When he was a baby and an apple slice had been snatched right out of his mum's hand into his own. Every time, the boy had had no idea how it had happened.
"Now that I think about it yeah..." Sterling told her after a beat of thinking.
"Well, "she informed him with a polite smile, "That's magic. And at Hogwarts, you can learn how to control it and make it do what you want." His eyes lit up at the idea of such power.
"But first, we have to get you your things." His mum went to grab her credit card, but McGonagall explained, "No, you won't be needing that. Just get some cash and we can exchange it for wizarding money."

The day before this, one of our other protagonists had been chatting with her friends online.
"Eliza, you have a visitor" her mum called.
"Sorry guys, I have to go, " she told her friends, logging off. As she made her way downstairs she wondered who it could possibly be- she hadn't invited anyone over. And there, chatting with her mother on the couch, was the very same woman who would, a day later, visit Sterling.
"Hello, " Eliza greeted her with a smile, "who are you? "

"This, " her mother told her, "is Professor McGonagall. She's here to take you to a magical school." Eliza's eyes grew wide, "M-magic?!" she stuttered, mouth gaping. McGonagall smiled and nodded. The girl's enthusiasm was contagious. She handed the girl a letter, which she hastily opened, reading its contents with an awed expression.

Later that day, another one of our four children was visited. She was browsing the web when there was a ring at the door. She set aside her computer and - yelling "Dad!" over her shoulder- opened the door to find an unknown lady at her doorstep.

"Who are you?" she asked, raising an eyebrow at the woman.

"I am Professor Minerva McGonagall. I'm here for a Miss Maya Pearson?" she stated
"That would be me." The girl said, " What do you want me for? " Handing her a letter the woman said, "I'd like to welcome you to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."

And finally, our last protagonist was playing a racing game when he heard a knock on the door- the same door as Maya, in fact, for this was her brother.
"One moment!" he yelled, almost at the finish line. He was almost there. Victory in three... Two... knock knock knock. Distracted, he swerved off into the grass on accident and the computer won. He glared at the door as though it were its fault that he had just lost. However, another knock on the door reminded him it was not the door's fault, but rather whoever was knocking on it at this hour. Seriously, it was like 11 P.M. people! He peeked through the peephole and saw a quite professional-looking woman, or so he thought, the robes threw him off, though. He slowly opened the door.

"Hello, I'm Calvin Pearson, can I help you?" he said, giving a small wave.

"I'd like to welcome you, young man, to Hogwarts, School of Witchcraft and Wizardry" She handed him a letter, which he eagerly opened.
And so, our story begins.

(A/N: Happy (now late) Hogwarts back to school day! Oh, and my birthday, too. Also, it gets shorter and more humorous as it heads on, it's just the first few introductory chapters like thos. Thanks for reading, Sammie out! 💚💙💜)
