The rest of the day was exhausting, trying to sort out problems while thinking hard about what they could do to solve the issues presented. By the time the Dragon Riders landed at New Berk, they were half asleep, and not expecting at all that they had visitors.

The King and Queen of Dragons waiting patiently as the riders dismounted, yawning and stretching, until they jolted in surprise at the two Night Furies sitting in front of them.

"Gah!" was all Hiccup could manage, until he calmed his rapidly beating heart, and looked at the Night Furies. Shadow bounced over to greet his parents, and they all crooned affectionately. Then, the Monarchs turned their attention to the humans.

Hiccup had studied dragons carefully, and managed to pick up a few words of what the King of Dragons was saying, but used mostly his skills of discernment to convert it to understandable sentences.

This place is a disaster. Dragons are all over the place, and you can't possibly be able to stop them, with just a few dragons! I can use my Alpha status to keep things in check, but I need to return to the Hidden World in a two weeks.

"Really?!" Hiccup gasped excitedly. "Thank you!" The King of Dragons just smiled, then, with a last croon to Shadow, the King and Queen of Dragons took off into the sky, patrolling the archipelago. Hiccup stared after them, shreds of hope beginning to gather in his heart.

"What now?" Tyler asked, eager to help. "Now, we rest." Hiccup said, then he turned his gaze to the others. "Tomorrow, we are going to solve our problems."

After a good night's sleep, the Dragon Riders congregated in the Great Hall, to hear Hiccup's idea. Before Hiccup had arrived, he checked on his leather, disappointed to see that it was still cooling. Still, his hopes were higher, as he explained what he was thinking.

"We can't have the King of Dragons around to protect the Archipelago forever," Hiccup started, "And there aren't any other dragons with full alpha status that can patrol the Archipelago for danger 24/7 for the rest of their life. If you know a dragon like that, please speak now." he said dryly. "After one week, we will be back to five dragons vs everything else. But what if we could have more?" "More Dragon Riders?" Sarah asked, confused. "Where would we find humans willing to help?" Hiccup smiled sheepishly. "I'm not sure..." But Christopher was struck with an idea. "Actually, we can find a whole village-worth of accepting people! I mean, freed slaves would be pretty responsive!" Then, what Christopher realized occurred to them all. Annie gasped. "Of course! The slavery department!" Hiccup grinned. "That way, we can free the slaves there, and get people for the New Berk village, and protectors of the archipelago! Plus we destroy their defense fleet, end slavery, and get the Death Songs back their island! Besides, I have wanted to go back for those slaves since we escaped! We were just a bit busy almost dying and such..." "Perfect!" Tyler said brightly. "Now all we need is a plan."

Quickly, it became clear that facing the slavers would be difficult. Their protective borrowed clothes had been blasted, and offered little protection. They would also need a small army of dragons to help them attack. So they spent the morning planning, and went to lunch that day with their heads filled full of the preparations they would execute in an hour.

Lunch finished, and the Dragon Riders rounded up their army.

It took some persuasion, and a very large amount of fish, but finally, about 150 dragons were lined up, ready to be walked through training. Then, Annie and Sarah took charge.

There was no doubt that the girls knew what they were doing, because the dragons already were in a semblance of an attack formation by lunchtime. Hiccup had watched small portions of their methods, and agreed that the dragons would be ready within the week.
