Two people (genders unknown right now because I'm indecisive) who have gone through really tough times find each other at the same cliff and decide to..talk?

Realizing what they're about to do they ponder. Will they jump together? Will one jump while the other lives to tell their tale? Will they walk away together happy and unknowing of life's awaited fate?

Character A:
17 yo, Male, Evan, Evans takes care of his younger sibling (Age 9, Female, Lena) while his parents are absent and dealing with addiction. Evan works after school and his grades slip as the result of this. Evan has been a provider since Lena turned 2 and has been overlooked since then. People always praise him for raising such a sweet girl. But, no one has ever once stopped to ask why he is raising her. No one has ever cared to ask about him. Every decision Evan has ever made has always been for Lena. This cliff represents a choice that is truly for him. A selfish choice. But, Evan hasn't made a selfish decision in over 8 years. Evan is soft-spoken, controlled, observant, with a tough cracking outer-shell.

Character B:
16 yo, Male, Riley, Riley has recently moved back home after being sent to boarding school for a year. When Riley comes back he realizes that his life has only gotten worse. Riley was bullied in school, painted to be the aggressor because of his outbursts, and practically sent away to prison. He comes back to learn that his parents are filing for divorce and believes it's his fault. If only he were better. If only he weren't so fucked up. He feels like a failure coming back to this dead town. The cliff is there to solve all of his problems. Riley's personality is intense, sarcastic, emotionally volatile, and screams "Please don't forget me..".

Where the town is: Rockford, Illinois
Where the cliff is: "The Pit" - Quarry 15-20 outside of town, past cornfields and gravel roads.

Alright so that's the first plot. It looks like a good one but I don't know if I would have a good layout for it.
