a song i wrote in the rain

we need one another
and it sucks to think that were never more alone
than when there's someone else at home
step away
from the window
draw the shades, drop your blades
and sink down slow
plug into the sound and
let yourself...

we need a good place
without the pleading smiles
i can't wait
until my feelings aren't fake

we need something other
than what we were given and now we're so alone
under watch
with someone else at home
drop your gaze
from your window
throw out your blades
and lock yourself away
you know
that it's the only place you'll be alone

we crave
just a good home
without the blood we all share
and the sleep we spare
for when our pain isn't shared
we want
only to know
that it will get better
but no rest for you now, cos now your
brain is much too loud

one day, only silence
will cover the sound
and we'll all wish we could go back
and all yell far too loud
