Love my enemies.
Why would I?
Pray for my enemies.
Why would I even do that?
They don't deserve my love and prayers.
Why would I even care?
Because:
you are loved,
you are saved
not by your works
but by the wonderful grace of God.
He has chosen you.
Undeserved,
Unworthy,
That's what I am
But God still did that.
He knows better.
His plans are better than my plans.
His ways are better than my ways.
All of His are much much better than my finite existence could ever muster.
That's why I'll pray for my enemies and those who persecute me.
