Max wakes up feeling normal. He pours himself some coffee and heads to Mess Hall. Max sees Neil sitting alone. He waves Max over-
"Morning" says Max once he gets there and sits down.
Where's Nikki?
"Um good morning Max" Neil says, He starts to turn red and avoids eye contact. Unfortunately for Neil, Max notices.
"Are you ok? You're acting weird."
"Yep I'm fine!! Totally f-fine!!" His answer comes out way faster then intended.
Smooth.
Max opens his mouth to say something but gets interrupted.
"HEY LOOK ITS NIKKI"
"..."
"Hey guys" says a confused Nikki.
Well that's new...
She sits next to Max. But somethings different.
"What's with your hair" Max asks bluntly. Today Nikki had her hair in a tight high ponytail. She smiles at Max.... then starts rambling about how she lost her other hair tie on some adventure. Max stares at her but forgets to actually listen to what she's saying. (Not like he ever does anyway)
He feels his face start to heat up.
She looks even more beautiful with her hair tied up..... wait what the fuck?!?What am I thinking?! Shes my friend!! I can't think like that! Its not like I like her. Well I do like her but not like tha-
Max's thoughts are cut of by voice he knows to well. Nikki.
"MAX!"
"Huh?"
Neil chuckles.
"Sorry Nikki. What?" Max asks. Nikki looks a little surprised. Max isn't normally one to apologize.
"I-Its nothing"
Shit... Did I upset her? What do I do?
Max and Nikki stare into each-others eyes for a while. Their hearts start to beat faster.

Geez you could cut this tension with a knife.
"Anyway..." Says Neil. Max and Nikki flinch.
They must have forgotten I was here
