My heart is racing, palpitating against my ribcage as I hold my breath. My eyes are watering and my lungs start to sting, I begin to tap my foot vigorously against the tile until, I collapse. There's nothing but black for just a few moments, and once I open eyes I see the entire class around me, wide-eyed with their chins touching their chests. The luminescent lights blur my vision as my teacher slowly sits me up.
"Are you okay? What happened?" His voice was smooth yet monotonous, calming yet boring. I looked up into his sunset-colored eyes and forced out a small laugh.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He helped me slowly get back onto my feet, and Akasuki from the back right of the class volunteers to walk me to the nurse. She bothers me, she's perky all the time and the type of girl to pull up her skirt a little bit when boys walk by. So, in essence, she's the reason why the school attached shorts to the skirts. She practically skips in every step she takes, but when you look deep into her eyes all you can see is endless pain. It's pitiful. She brushed her hair behind her ear once we made it to the nurse and pulled me in closely. My heart dropped into my stomach as her golden eyes glared into my soul.
"Stay away from-" Her voice croaked when she wanted to say your name. Her eyes had begun to glaze over and her brows furrowed.
"What do you mean?" I pulled away but she grabbed onto my wrist and looked at me with fury in her eyes.
"You know EXACTLY what I mean, bitch." The seriousness in her face was then replaced by her usual, fake bubbly smile as she opened the door to the nurse and led me through. I wasn't confused, she was right to assume I knew who she was talking about. But it's not like I can help myself, it's not like I can just keep myself away from you. The nurse checked my temperature and gave me a few crackers to eat, and decided I should just go back home. Akasuki had returned a few short moments later, holding my backpack and my school books. I double checked to see if anything was missing, and the second I picked up my cell phone it buzzed. Warmth flushed from my ears to my thighs when your name appeared on my screen. Hurriedly, I shoved my books into my bag and ran off of campus. My hair flew behind me and I smiled at the feeling of your texts buzzing in my hand as I ran over to your house, just a mere 6 blocks away from the school. I looked up to the apartment building and my knees began to quake. My phone buzzed again and I pulled up the messages you were sending me.
"My precious," I mumbled your message to myself. "I hid my apartment key underneath the fourth potted plant to the left of the door for you." My eyes jolted up, and I began to count down the potted plants. One, two, three, four. An uncontrollable smile spread across my face as I lifted the front end of the pot to see a silver, scratched up key full of our fingerprints. Struggling, my shaking hand had managed to get the key into the door that would lead me to my heaven, the heaven Akasuki wanted me to stay away from. I pulled the door open, looked around to see if anyone could see me, and ran up the stairs. My thighs began to burn and sweat dripped down my bodice the more I anticipated my fate. I had made it, apartment 17-B. My body collapsed, leaning against the door. Panting, I tried to regain my energy I had spent sprinting up 16 flights of stairs. My hair clung to my face in sweat, and my chest moved to my heaving breaths. The door swung open, and I fell directly into your bare chest.
"Tsk tsk tsk," I looked up to a fake look of disappointment. "Aiko, you know my rules." You helped me stand straight and wiped the sweat from my forehead.
"I know, I know. Don't exert myself on the way here." I looked down your body, a little bit of steam rolling off your broad shoulders. You must have just gotten out of a warm shower, my eyes lower their gaze to the towel barely clung to your hips. Your hand caressed my jaw and lifted my gaze up to your face. Your hair slightly curled in front of your eyes, dripping water down your strong jawline. My heart pounded against my ribcage and my stomach hit the floor. Your hand was broad, with a strong grip that could get any girl to collapse instantaneously, yet your touch was gentle when necessary. Your hand left my jaw to push your hair back, revealing your defined brows and dazzling hazel eyes that stared into mine. A smirk curled onto your face as you gently pulled me in, hugging me with your left arm, closing the door behind me with your right. Your body was warm and I could feel your member pressed against my thigh. I flushed, my ears and pelvis began to feel warm as you leaned forward to whisper in my ear.
