"Jawn!!!" My voice resounded through the flat, which was, when I was being honest, pretty small. 'Maybe I shouldn't have flung the door open..." It was too late now.

"What is it now, Sherlock?" As always, my breath stilled as the ex-doctor appeared. There was an unmistakable smear of annoyance in John's voice.

It was three a.m., to be fair.

"I...ermm...I..." My usually docile fingers fumbled for the box in my loyal coat.

"Sher, I don't have time f-" I finally grasped the box,holding it in front of my boyfriend, efficiently shutting him up.

It was a simple black cube. The top flicked open.

"Oh my God, Sherlock." John whispered, mouth agape.

The gold band looked bright, even in the feeble morning light. It was pretty thin, I noticed. Anxiety clenched my stomach.

"If it's to girly or something I can return i-" John just laughed at my rambling, standing on the tips of his fuzzy blue slippers to gently kiss me on the cheek.

"It's perfect, you worrywart."
