"Charlotte, can you go get your mother please?" My dad asks.
"But it's my birthday." I whine.
"Charlotte." My dad gives me a look.
"Fine, but you owe me daddy." I smile, before I walk out to the garage.
"Mama?" I call out.
"Right here Sweetie." My mom says, popping out from underneath the car.
"Dad wants you." I smile at her and she stands up.
"Tell him I'll be right there. I need to wash up first." My mom kisses my cheek before heading over to the sink.
"Okay." I say.
I walk back inside and to the kitchen where my dad was. He smiles when he sees me.
"Mama said she has to wash up first." I hug my dad and sit down on one of the stools.
I take my phone out and text my best friends, Avery and Alex. They're twins and I love their relationship. Even though they fight sometimes, they always make up and then they go play video games. I wish I had a sibling. Being an only child, it gets kind of lonely sometimes.
"How's my favorite twins?" I type.
"Lottie, I'm pretty sure we're the only twins you know." Alex types back.
"Shut up Lex." Avery types in.
"Are you coming to school today Lottie?" Alex asks.
"I'm not sure if I'm going to come." I say.
"Why?" Alex asks.
"Are you stupid Lex? It's her birthday." Avery types. "Happy birthday gurl! 🎂."
"Thank you V." I say.
"Happy birthday 🎉." Alex types.
"Thank you Lex." I type with a big smile on my face.
"What's got you so happy Charlotte?" My mom asks.
"My friends are weird." I say, not looking up from my phone.
"Yes you are." My dad says and ruffles your hair.
"You messed up my curls." I whine and try to fix my curly hair.
"You get these curls from me." My mom says.
"I know." I smile.

After breakfast my parents told me to go change into something fancy. I headed upstairs and video called Alex and Avery. They answered really fast.
"Hey Lottie." Avery says.
"I need help. I was told to change into something fancy." I say trying to set my phone up.
"Show us what you got girl." Alex says.
I show them all of the fancy outfits I have. We all decided on my short black skirt, paired with my white blouse. I'm just going to wear my white boots. I throw my hair up into a messy bun and they agree that it looks great.
"Thank you guys. What would I do without you?" I ask.
"Probably be miserable." Alex says.
"Alex." Avery and I say simultaneously.
"Charlotte, we have to go now." My dad calls from downstairs.
"I have to go now but I'll see you later. I love you guys." I say.
"We love you too Lottie." They say in unison.
"See you later." I say before ending the call.
