Bestfriends

Brie had been my Bestfriend since middle school. We were always close asf. I was new to town and my mom and her mom had met in a grocery store and decided to hang out. Her mom had invited us to her 12th birthday party and I was hella excited. A bouncy house and cake ice cream oh hell yeah sign me up. I gotta be honest it wasn't the best meeting. It was time to cut the cake and I had been in such a rush to be first in line I zoomed right past her and accidentally knocked juice all over her birthday dress. Needless to say she smacked me upside the head before running in the house crying In tears. I felt really bad but mostly because I had a huge knot above my head but also because I made her cry. Her mom came up to me and kinda laughed telling me it was all okay and not to worry. But ofc I was gonna worry I was afraid to see her again. She might decide to hit me with another smack. But once the party was all over I was excited. I never had to see her again because let's face it I know she hated me and I wasn't trying to get embarrassed again. On my way back to the car I over heard my mom say something to mom my along the lines of "oh yea I'll give you the Realtors number tomorrow." I didn't really pay much attention to it and just chalked it up as grown folks talk. But once my mom had gotten back into the car we begin to talk.
"I'm so excited", My mom said as she buckled in her seat belt.
"Why what happened? I said.
She turned around looking back at me with the biggest smile on her face, "Well I was talking to Brie's mom and she told me that the house right next to them is available. Yayyyy!!! No more staying at grandmas house. She screamed for joy. I was horrified. Not only did I have to face her again but now I was gonna live next door to her. I sunk back into my seat and braced myself for the days to come.
A couple weeks later we had moved in. All the boxes and furniture has been set up and we were all ready to go. My mom and her mom has been in the kitchen discussing house arrangements while sipping wine while I was in my room. I got thirsty so u walked out to get a sip of water and as soon as they saw me they called me over.
"Come here luxxie! I got some good news for you." My mom said. With my glass of water I walked over to the both of them confused.
"So since school starts back next weekend Ms. Rucker thought it would o be a great idea to have Brianna show you around since it your first day in all." She continued. My eyes opened wide. You could see the horror on my face. Omg this girl was gonna kill me.
"Do you like that idea" Ms Rucker said with a bright smile. All I did was nod my head with my buck shot eye before walking back into my room.

Fast forward to the first day on school. Oooo I was fresh. I planned my outfit out perfectly. I even stayed up all night to iron everything for to a crisp. I had on my Nike shoes with the fresh fit to match. I can't lie I was feeling myself. The first day of school was alway the most important. It decided where you was gonna be on the food chain. Were you gonna be a popular kid or a lame nerdy kid. As I begin to walk out the door I saw her. She was standing next to a group of older kids which seemed to be her older siblings sending her off to school. As she was walking towards the end of the street I grabbed my backpack quickly and ran out the door to catch up to her. Almost outta breathe I finally made it. She was looking at me all confused as if I had something on my face.
"Why are you breathing so heavy" She said.
"Oh uhh I was just...ya know...nothing" I says while tryna catch my breath.
"Oh okay...well I'm kinda supposed to be showing you around today under the demand of my mom" she said as we both started walking towards the bus stop. "Try to keep up and stay outta trouble"  I nodded my head as I followed along side of her.
"Hey um... I'm sorry about the whole juice thing. I didn't mean to mess up your dress." I said with a cracked voice. She was immediately irritated.
"You act like you never had cake before" she replied, "that was my favorite dress"
"Yea I know I'm sorry about that. But you didn't have to hit me in the head" I said while laughing a lil in the inside.
"Well you lucky that's all I did" She said with a slight laugh as we both saw the bus pulling up.
Needless to say that was the beginning of a dope friendship. After that we did everything together. Went to parties got into fights. Even had nights where she would sneak into my house and spend the night. She was my comfort and I was hers. We were inseparable even up til high school. We both grew up outta of awkward preteen phase and developed into young adults. She was the captain of the dance team and every guy wanted her. I mean every guy. I could see why tho, she was bad asf. But nun the less that was bsf. I didn't see her in that way. I was her protector so every sleezy guy that tried to talk to her it broke her heart I had to step in. They knew to get to her they had to get thru me. I mean I wasn't so bad my self. I was the captain of the football team. I had girls all over me but I never took them seriously. Me and her practically ran the school. But we was mean people or bullies. We would volunteer after school most weekends and Brie was also an after school tutor. Oh yea did I mention Brie was also smart asf. She basically let me copy off her in every class we had together. She saved my ass plenty of times. And no matter what happened, no matter who each one of us dated we always stayed Bestfriends. But one day sum took a change.
