Benedict pushed past his sister, walked towards the door of the shack and pulled back the curtain, and, instead of seeing Ollie, who he hoped to see, he saw Martin, from the school, covered in black soot, bleeding, he fell over, lying down beside Benedict's feet.
"Who is that?" Erin asked, shocked.
"It's a friend of mine, from the school." Benedict said, while hastily checking his pulse, "I think he might just make it."
"Anything I can do?" asked Erin,
"No, I am afraid not, all that we can do is get him to a hospital." Benedict said as he started to lift Martin, when he had a thought.
"Martin? How did you survive the blast?" he asked,
"I, I, I was, I was, hiding."
"Hiding where, and from what?"
"Him."
"Well at least we have established it's a boy,"
"No, HIM!" Martin said, he was pointing at the wall behind them, where there was scattered pictures of Xavier, "him..." Martin closed his eyes and became very heavy, Benedict looked at the wall then back to Martin who wasn't breathing,
"No!" he shouted "don't you dare give up Martin!"
"Ben, I think he's..." Erin began,
"No!" shouted Benedict, lowering Martin to the ground, "NO! PLEASE NO!"
"Ben..."
"NO!" Benedict was sobbing into Martin's shoulder, his face now coated in blood also "Not you! You're all I have left!" Benedict fell backwards against the wall, Martin's head was tilted at the wall opposite, the wall with papers or Xavier, his eyes, they were so peaceful. Benedict looked at the wall also. The tears dripping down his face. He got to his feet, wiping the tears away.
"I will find him, I will Martin, for you, for everyone."
